So it's unconstitution to ask people to email them misinformation? And they will send the Gestapo to make sure they are never heard from again?Email address to snitch on your friends if they disagree with Obama or you think they are giving false information.

[QUOTE="magnax1"]It's a bad idea to debunk misinformation?Lol this is a terrible Idea, they're just doing it so they can try and change the public view on a bill that obviously isn't very effective for America.
-Sun_Tzu-
Thats not what it seems like though. They are taking what people are saying, analyzing it and using it to push out a sort of counter arguement they can use to convince the American people that this will work.
It's just for pointing out misinformation that circulates on the web. It's actually somewhat necessary considering that HMOs are notorious spreading false information whenever health care reform comes up. For example, there's good reason to believe that HMOs are the ones organizing and funding all those protests that have been taking place as of late.
Also, libel and slander aren't protected speech so what the administration is doing is perfectly legal.
It's a bad idea to debunk misinformation?[QUOTE="-Sun_Tzu-"][QUOTE="magnax1"]

All they are doing is collecting misinformation, like "Obamacare is going to kill old people", and debunking those false claims.1- Whats there reasoning for doing this, if they aren't convincing people otherwise.
2-Why are they taking peoples Emails? Why can't they find this stuff on their own, it'd be fairly easy.

They are trying to build up support for health care reform. One way of building up support for health care reform is by refuting false information. And again, politicians do this all the time. They are trying to change views on a bill that very few people think would be good, instead of changing the bill to something that people think would be good. Its rather sad.

One of the reasons why health care reform is viewed under an unfavorable light is that there is misinformation surrounding the debate.Apparently the white house isn't smart enough to understand the objections to their health care plan, even though a simple search on google could probably produce thousands of articles, so they need the flock to keep them in touch with reality. So if nothing else they are clueless, at worst dangerous.

Its because it makes health care worse for most people. If they just gave coverage to people who can't afford it nobody would care, but they are basically going to turn it into a euro style healthcare system.

It's asking for misinformation (you know, so that the misinformation can be debunked); it is not asking for the names or identities of individuals conveying misinfo. There is a pretty clear distinction there for anyone willing to see it.

No, that is not what they are doing. Not true. The White House in fact MUST keep a record of everything that goes in and out, including letters and emails -who sent them, what they said, etc. It is saved and archived, acording to law.

In the system we have in place now, the tax payer already pays for other peoples health care. We pay for medicare, we pay for medicaid, and we even pay for the uninsured, although he pay for the uninsured in the least cost-effective way imaginable. No, that's not true. Countries like France have better quality health care than the U.S. And it is much cheaper for the tax payer to pay for the health insurance of the uninsured so they can receive primary care rather than paying for their foot amputation and the antibiotics they received for a number of weeks when they go to the ER and discover that they have an advanced stage of diabetes. Edit: and why american health care is slightly more expensive is because the revenue is used on reasearch.
