I do not live in the US.

I recently moved into a new appartment and only after living in it did I realize its infested with fleas.

The landlord applied some stuff on the floor, but about a week later its just as if it never happened..fleas everywhere.

I can't break my lease on this ground and find a better place, I could probably work out with the landlord to rent the appartment above mine, only problem is that its considerably smaller and my roomate probably wont be happy living in the kitchen.

One thing I'm certain of, I will not live in this apparment with fleas for a year.

I don't want a solution that will get rid of "almost" all the fleas.

I want them 100% gone and never EVER see them again.

So how do I fix this?

Buy some frogs and spiders and let them live in your apartment. No more fleas! :)

Exterminator?

solidruss

From what I read, they won't do much really.

They'll ask me to vaccuum before they come, they'll bomb every room in the house, I'll have to cover everything and then I'll have to vaccuum every single day for like a month until they come again for round 2 until this is completely dealt with.

Its the landlord who should be the one moving the furniture out and vaccuming the place everyday.

If he's not willing to do it then why would I be? Its his appartment after all.

This doesnt make sense to me, the best and simplest solution for me is to move out.

What more would you expect from the landlord? Napalm? All the Landlord could do is call an exterminator which they should be obligated to do

Welcome the fleas onto your body. Once you've become mangy you won't notice anymore.

I had problems with fruit flies in my apartment earlier this summer and I just cleaned up all my trash and kitchen and made some home made traps and they're gone now. Can't be hard getting rid of all the fleas.

I once had fleas in my apartment due to letting my ferret run around outside. I bombed the place myself and vacuumed it and haven't had a infestation since. Do what you need to do. Get the place bombed, vacuum and repeat if needed. The landlord is required to keep the place pest free. If the landlord will not help, contact the local health department.

Get a cat or a dog.

Funny thing I notice, is that I only get bitten by fleas when there are no pets around. See, fleas are WILLING to bite me, but they'd much PREFER to bite a dog or a cat. So...getting a dog/cat causes the fleas to bite the dog/cat instead of me.

In this case, I recommend cats since they're less needy. They don't mind if you ignore them, and you don't want them to like you. You just have them around as flea-magnets. So yeah...I'd go with a cat. Also, one cat might not be enough. You might need two. And if you're gonna have more than one pet, better to get a cat.

Buy some flea bombs, let them off in the morning and go out for the day.

Stop being lazy. go to the supermarket, or where ever they sell flea bombs were you live, let them off in the morning, go to work, hang out with friends, and come back 6 hours later (or whatever the bombs suggest) then open the windows and let some air in and vaccum. It's not difficult. Also it's not your landlords apartment. YOU are the one who lives there now. YOU deal with the problem instead of crying and getting mummy to come fix it for you. If YOU can't fix it on your own THEN ask the landlord for assistance.

Spray lemon juice everywhere. You'll be flea-less within a day or two.

I wouldn't lie to you about this, dude.

..you want him to go get a cat so the cat can suffer being bitten? even if he get cats the fleas will still get on him and bite and if they get in a cat or dog fur their going to be breeding like crazy. Anyway, you need to bomb the place, vacuum, bomb again and you should be good.

Trust me dude, I know what I'm talking about. I've been living in a flea-infested home for years, but I literally NEVER get bitten. As long as there are dogs and cats around, the fleas stick exclusively to the pets.

It's like...humans can live on a diet of crickets and raw eggs. If there was literally no other food whatsoever, then you'd be glad to eat that ****. But we DO have access to food that doesn't suck, so no one is going to just voluntarily go around eating bugs.

Or you could just get flea bombs or call an exterminator...

you do know fleas carry around diseases right? why the **** would i allow my dog to be bitten and possibly get sick? also a normal person who knows their dogs and cats have fleas would try to get rid of them from their pets not use them as shields. ......

Honestly, vacuuming (very frequently) and using the floor powders or flea bombs is the only thing that will help. If you get something that says it breaks the life cycle, and do it right, you shouldn't have a problem for much longer.

Diseases? Pfft. You're more likely to get sick from eating out at a restaurant. And that's even if all of the fleas are biting YOU. The risk of disease diminishes substantially once you have pets around to act as a flea magnet.

As far as dogs go, yes heartworms are a concern. And I forget exactly how dogs get heartworms, but I think it might have something to do with fleas. If that's the case, then yes that is a valid concern. Provided that you have a dog. But you don't have to get a dog, you can get a cat instead. And last I heard, cats don't get heartworms.

Also, any person who EVER lets any of their pets go outside knows that you CAN'T get rid of fleas. Let your cat roam around the neighborhood? It's gonna bring back fleas. Take your dog on a walk in the park? It's gonna bring back fleas. As long as your dog/cat is ever going outside, it WILL have fleas, period. Most people don't know/care, though, because the fleas almost always bite the dog/ccat. Most that anyone does is occasionally give their pets some anti-flea medicine. But that doesn't get rid of fleas any more than using jock itch medication gets rid of fungus on your crotch.

Fleas are hard to get rid of than fruit flies, I'd like to think. They're harder to see and they could be ANYWHERE. TC, call the exterminator.

Try to get him to leave RHCP and do some projects with John.

We all know they're holding the two of them back.
