Hey I need some help. I am a pretty skinny 15 year old, but I work out, and I recently (past month) have gotten into a weightlifting routine. I lift the right amount, so I dont need to post it here. I am getting very noticably stronger. However, Im still a skinny b@$t@rd. What foods arent really fattening (like really bad) but help get meat on your bones? I weigh 120 pounds, too.

im not much of a dietition, but for the longest time i had heard that if you eat protein after workouts, then you will gain muscle mass. in your case(which you want low fat), id recommend chicken, fish, or nuts. however, i think i heard somewhere that its an urban legend. im not too sure but you may want to give it a shot.

I would imagine you'd go with protein-rich foods such as lean meats, eggs, legumes, and soy.

protien shakes 4 to 6 times a day. I recommend getting professional whey protien powder. Not as expensive a muscle milk but is just as good IMO.

That plus some hard weight lifting will do the job.

You need protein and lots of it, you say you weigh 120lbs, then you should be having 120grams of protein a day. You need calories, over 3000, and you need carbs lots of carbs. I recommend getting BSN True Mass, its a great supplement that will help put on weight fast. Tuna, Chicken, steak, eggs, Pork Chops all great sources of protein, you should be including those in your daily diet. Eat around 6 meals a day for maximum gain. When you lift you need to make sure you work the right muscle groups. If you're a begginner i recommend just doing full body workouts, within 3 or 4 weeks you can slowly start transitioning into working muscle groups. such as

Chest/Back

Triceps/Biceps/Forearms

Deltoids (shoulders

Quadriceps/ Hamstrings

Lifting is only 50% of getting stronger eating right is the other 50%

I could go alot more into the subject, but considering you just starting, thats what i'll give you. You can look online for alot of info also.

I have a question about these protein shakes. I have these generic Publix shake things, it says meal replacement on it, is that the same as a protein shake if I drink that after a meal? :?

No they aint the same. protein shakes are well......protein shakes, while meal replacements are just......meal replacements. But drinking meal replacement with meals will help you put on some weight (i know this from experience).

Well thanks everyone! I never thought this would get this much responses. So protein is the way to go (I havent read through every response yet, I will after though.) I am currently lifting 15 lbs. (dont laugh im scrawny) dumbells but i could probably easily transition to 20 lbs with no problems. I do 3 sets of 10 reps of curls, 3 sets of 8 reps of...(the thing where you lift over your head, click 'em together, then go back down) and 3 sets of twelve...damn, the thing where you put one hand on a bench or something, have a straight back, and lift the dumbell up to your chest, then back down. I dont really do the other muscle groups regularly, i kinda have naturally strong abs, and I run every time i dont have too much homework. Thanks for the advice! Oh, and I am about 5' 11"
