Seriously. I know that NK has nukes and is talking about nuking the whole universe, but analyze things well. Dropping a bomb is not the end of the thing. Dropping a nuke is the start of a fight. Before starting a fight there is the great question: Could I survive retaliations or win without retaliating me?

NK can't start a war. They are just bragging and marking their autonomy so other governments treat them with respect and a little fear. Ask yourselves: How many REAL and STRONG armed conflicts has NK been into lately? None really. Little armed movements, but nothing to think that they would dare to use them against anyone.

People (mostly Americans) are afraid just because NK has nukes. And they are comunists. Well. Let me say: US has many many Nukes and no one says a damn thing. As I asked with NK let me ask now: Do you think US government has the possibility to drop Nukes. Well, they have made it previously and have a long history of armed conflicts and invasions (just look at the last previous 60 years of US military history).

What I am really afraid is not about some greedy NK military saying "we have nukes and we will kill anyone in our way". What I really fear is US politics saying that they have to "send freedom and democracy" all over the world. That is a bigger concern and no one cares a D*MN!! I wonder why...

Let us say the whole country is crazy. How many wars have been into? And the "sane americans"? Do your numbers and see who you should fear the most.

..I was hoping for a good explanation in here. Should have said..1) NK has no allies 2) Although they have absolute loyalty to Kim Jong, do they have that great of training/weapons 3) All the major countries would go into NK and then the world will be fine and dandy til the next crazy leader who needs to be taken down :)

Right because people do all sorts of reasonable and smart things.

Seriously, who would go to war no good reason? That would be like invading a country to prevent terrorism and WMDs falling into the wrong hands where there aren't any of those things.

Numbers dont mean anything here. Chances of them attacking? Slim. But let us not forget that we're dealing with an angsty teenager over in N. Korea.

Who knows what he would and wouldnt do. Think about it. Hes nuts. Hes about to die. He doesnt care about the future of his country because he wont be in it.

Even if NK has nukes, I doubt it has the capacity to launch them at us. Seriously, this is a country that can't even keep its electricity on all night.

And they know if they launch a nuke, they're assuredly destroyed. Kim may be crazy, but I doubt he'd even be willing to destroy his country by provoking far greater superpowers.

I'm not worried about a war with NK. I'm more worried about the regime taking the technology used to develop their nukes, or the nukes themselves, and selling them to the highest bidder.

Who knew- America is the new Evil Empire!

I'm quaking in my boots! Who will they invade next? France, Canada, China? OH, can they ever be stopped?!

I don't know about you guys, but I've never seen a country like America, where people come from all over and actually "make it big," where people clamor to get in because evidently it's a step up from their poor and impoverished home countries. My grandparents fled prosecution in Europe to make it here and I'm damn well happy they did. Our government is not tyrannical- misguided at times, yes. If you attempt to deny the positive impact we have had on this world then you sir will fail.

North Korea isnt likely to start any nuclear war. However, if you research into nuclear war, you will learn alot more about the devastation it would bring to everyone.

it WONT be WWIII if they use nuke anyway, China and Russia will NOT back NKorea up in a war, so it would be bascially a western coalition vs NKorea like it is in iraq or afghanistan.

Well in general when you're dictator you can look how you want most of the time. You probably worry less about what people think of you when you can have them killed for it at will.

Yes because America would toss us into a nuclear holocaust! Wrong.

War with the NK will be a short one. NK has no allies that woul DARE rally against the US, and our missle defences are some of the best on the planet. I severly doubt we would nuke them back. We would bomb them into oblivion, but I doubt nukes are necessary.

All this speculation is pointless, because it will not come to this. If there is one sane person in Kim's government then they will not launch a nuke, plain and simple. It would be the death of every north korean, and that is something America does not want, regardless of how evil everybody thinks we are.

Guantanamo finds ironic this comment. Also the fact that torture is legal in the US, if the individual is suspect of being terrorist.

I agree. Still, you don't give a pyromaniac a box of matches. America has nukes but doesn't use them, and probably will never use them. This is a well established thought and no matter where you are nobody fears a US nuke bombardment. Iran, NK, etc, have what we might call "looney bin" leaders, and so we get pissed when they start flaunting nuclear capabilities. It's quite childish, it's not like we can stop them.

we go to these places were help is needed. helpless civilians get murdered. and we are the only country who risk there own lives and get off there a$$es, to help those in need. we dont just use random nukes. if your country isnt dangering anyone else, or not there innocent civilians, yes, you dont need to worry about the us invading your country. whatever your country is.

In order for Korea to start another World War every important nation in the world must fight in that war. I don't see China fighting on one side or the other. Therefor no WW3.

It was most assuredly an offensive move, anyways with your reasoning taken into consideration America better control the whole world's supply of nuclear armaments. Reality is any country can become an enemy years down the road, so If you guys are actually worried about these types of things you will have to invade a lot more countries in the years to come.

And funny that none of them presented a REAL or direct thread to US. I mean, attack panama and for some magic reason make profit of Panama's cannale (dunno spelling)... Yeah right. I am oblivious to history as you well mark. And kuwait, there was no profit in the best oil producer of the world? Sure....

[QUOTE="Omni-Slash"][QUOTE="duxup"]Well in general when you're dictator you can look how you want most of the time. You probably worry less about what people think of you when you can have them killed for it at will.curono
It's how I roll....8) and the reason why the US "tells other countries what to do with them"....(besides the fact that it's really a falsity)..is that we are a stable govt....when the US criticises it's usually to govts that are ) not stable or 2) have a track record of human rights abuses.....

Guantanamo finds ironic this comment. Also the fact that torture is legal in the US, if the individual is suspect of being terrorist.

While I don't necessarily agree with ever thing Omni said feel free to toss the magnitude of Guantanamo up against N. Korea's record anytime ... seriously dude. If you're worried about national sovernty and people's rights N. Korea isn't the cause to take up.

that fact that you're willing to compare Guantanamo to other Human Rights abuses in the world makes your argument even more laughable....

Agreed, those videos of naked, tortured people are a laugh. Do you remember those photos, they were hillarious /sarcasm

[QUOTE="hodges_3_5"][QUOTE="Dylan_11"] I don't blame your country for creating them, as you said it could have been anyone. As the only country to use that weapon offensively, however, I don't think you guys have the right to tell other countries what they can and cannot do with their own nuclear technology. Dylan_11
i wouldnt really say we used it offensively, but defensively. anyways, we really only try to control nuclear tech in countrys that can be a threat to us and the countries around us.

It was most assuredly an offensive move, anyways with your reasoning taken into consideration America better control the whole world's supply of nuclear armaments. Reality is any country can become an enemy years down the road, so If you guys are actually worried about these types of things you will have to invade a lot more countries in the years to come.

japan attacked us. on our home front. we defended. war over. we act on unstable countries. you cant claim we've ever invaded an unstable country. and honestly, we do these nuclear freakouts for the sake of the world. not just the us. unlike the rest of the world.

The twonukes the US dropped on Japan were the first and last nuclear attack in the history of mankind. Trend setting much? Not really.

The difference between Iran having bombs and France having bombs is that fance knows if they launch a nuke at us it will be a war of mutual destruction. Iran knows that as well, they just probably wouldn't care. That is why we don't want them to have nukes.

Sovereignty in here isn't the issue. The issue is about prejudice about people getting the idea sold that a country suddenly becomes the universal magnet of evil because of economic interests (5 years ago no one cared a thing about NK), but when I (And I DO MEAN THIS) state how a country with enough power can invade wherever they want, no one says a thing. And even worst, they defend invasions, abuses, torture and massacres "for the sake of peace and democracy".

Compared to the stuff that going on in North Korea Guantanamo would be a five star resort
