For those who have seen 1408

*SPOILERS* I don't get the ending. He is just sitting in his house packing with his ex-wife when he plays the tape of his daughter speaking to him in the room 1408. Then his wife is awed and he looks at her and smiles. What does this mean? Is that not really him. Is that the Mike that talked to her over the Computer Vid Camera that the room put in there. What happened?

um i saw it a while ago when it first came out...but if i remember right no body believed him so he played it and his wife finally believed himanman4707

Exactly. And not only was it proof of the incident, but the tape had their daughter's voice on it; proof that their daughter is alive and well in the afterlife. Isn't that reason enough to smile :)

It was sort of just confirmation that what happened to him was not a dream or a hallucination.

His daughter (or something pretending to be his daughter) was actually there... in one form or another.
