I remember when he was Ronald Regan's VP. He certainly presided over a lot of international upheaval.
Respects and R.I.P.

It's sad to hear. RIP. I guess he was getting up there in age.
Reagan was in office when I was born, but I think the first president I remember being in office was George Bush, now that I think about it. I was so young that I really don't remember enough from those years, mostly the SNL skits with Dana Carvey or whoever played Bush at the time.
A few years ago I remember watching one of the early debates between Bush and Clinton from back when they were running against each other. I actually felt that Bush gave some pretty good answers, I think maybe Clinton just had a better strength with talking to people and relating to them. But idk, I'd have to watch the whole thing again I think.
He was the most qualified and competent U.S. President of the modern era. His chief quality, and flaw, as it would turn out, was that he was not a politician. Just a great lover of America. He became President right when I became aware of what the President was lol. Best President of the last 50 years, besides maybe Obama.
Rest in peace Mr. Bush. You're in a better place than we are all at, and now with your wife. Condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. God be with him.
After hearing all the testimony, I think 41 was a lot better person than I realized back in the day. I still don't think he was a great president, while he was good at foreign affairs he scores really poorly on the domestic side which is why he wasn't re-elected. Interestingly competitive Bush 41 and opponent Bill Clinton became good friends.
Bush 43 also seems like a decent guy, but to me he was a very inept president.

Bush. Sr. was a decent guy. I didn't agree with a lot of his policies, but he wasn't a toxic politician. Bush 2 was just a frat boy buoyed by his fathers success. You're right, he was inept. But he wasn't toxic. You could still like him if you ran into him on the street somewhere.
There was something in the air in the late 80's and early 90's, and even with the Gulf War, the world felt like it was coming closer to forever peace. It's difficult the explain the feeling of euphoria in the US after the Gulf War ended that lasted all the way through till 9/11. Bush deserves quite a bit of credit for that.
Sigh, do I have to pretend to be sad?
No. YOu can continue to be a piece of shit human being.
Interesting you(and the link) said Dead instead of past away.
No, it isn't. I don't know why people feel they have to sugarcoat it. People don't pass. They die.

lol, you call it sugarcoating?
Anyway, sure at the end of the day he's dead. But it happened naturally as opposed to physically like getting ran over by bulls or something.
