Found an iPod Touch today!

This is crazy! I just left the apple store on 5th ave I went to mess with the iPads and when I was about to go through the turn style to board a train home I kicked an ipod by mistake (I didn't see it) So sure enough I picked it up.

I am posting from it now, I'm still 3 blocks from the apple store on 5th ave.

... So what happens now?

When is the wedding date?

I am still in shock, I dont know what to do. If I should just keep it and go home or if I should bring it back to the apple store.

I dont know I feel really bad kind of. I am going to bring it to the apple store see what they can do to find the owner.

Easily solved. Cut the Ipod in two with your preferred incision method -return one of the pieces to Apple and keep the other. problem solved!

Well I am in the apple store still posting from an iPad. I explained to an employee that I found it and want to try and return it. He looked up the serial # and turns out it was never registered, and did not have any contacts in it either.

He told me I can keep it and helped me register it, he then gave me a free $25 dollar itunes gift card for being kind and trying to return it to it's owner.

Colin - When I went to the GameSpot website at first it brought me to a mobile site for iphone I had to scroll to the bottom to lick to go to the actual full site.

If it has no data that probably means somebody has only just bought it. Yes, they're clearly mentally deficient for losing their iPhone 30 seconds after buying it, but it's still pretty dodgy to keep it.bobbetybob

Ok man, even if you are telling the truth, and this is a big IF, why not wait at least 10minutes in the spot you fount the i-pod to see if the owner returns? I too fount a phone on 5thave around Christmas time once but I didnt take it and walk off. I stood there to see if someone would come back and ask me if I seen a cell phone. Well it turns out the owner came back and started asking people in the area about a cell they just dropped and if they seen it. I approached her and asked what model the phone was and other additional details that were visible in the phone and it was clear that it was hers. She gave me a hug and life went on.

But you may have a point seeing that you say there arent any names or contacts because you know, it could of just been bought. So you decide to return to the Apple Store and bam, an employee checks the serial number and see that it wasnt registered and then rewards you a free 25 dollar gift card to the itunes store. Really?! Man like I said, go back and ask what his name is so I can talk to him later tomorrow :)

But then again, maybe this is all false...
