http://www.salon.com/2013/05/30/fox_news_rise_of_female_breadwinners_will_destroy_society_as_we_know_it/

Video from FoxNews below.

Juan Williams:

What were seeing with four out of 10 families, now the woman is the primary breadwinner. Youre seeing the disintegration of marriage, youre seeing men who were hard hit by the economic recession in ways that women werent. But youre seeing, I think, systemically, larger than the political stories that we follow every day, something going terribly wrong in American society, and its hurting our children, and its going to have impact for generations to come.

Erick Erickson:

When you look at biology, look at the natural world, the roles of a male and female in society, and the other animals, the male typically is the dominant role. The female, its not antithesis, or its not competing, its a complimentary role. We as people in a smart society have lost the ability to have complimentary relationships in nuclear families, and its tearing us apart.

Apparently there are men out there threatened by women earning a good wage, and perhaps enough to support a family. OH MY GOODNESS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END?

What is really the big deal? My wife makes a little more than I do, but there has never been an though to my manhood being threatened

I wonder what mingmao thinks of this.

I never got the issue with this. I'd have zero issue with my wife making more than me or even me being a stay at home dad. *shrug*

I can't remember if I've ever seen anyone cite a Fox News video to seriously support an argument.

Couldn't they at least get someone like Michelle Malkin on this show? I'm sure she makes a lot of money, I wonder what her opinion on this is. This segment full of middle-aged guys just comes off as 3 minutes of "WOMEN, AMIRITE??" (FWIW this is the only time I'm curious about her opinion on anything)

Except that isn't how he is on the network at all. I don't like FN either (or any of the major national news networks) but it never ceases to amaze me the amount of people that bash FN who clearly don't ever watch it or know anything about it.

These idiots make it really hard to talk to people about real issues facing men today.

1) The current educational system completely disfavors males

2) Men have very little rights when it comes to family court

3) Men are openly descriminated against in early childhood education (97% of all preschool teachers are female)

Is the 97% a sign of discrimination, or interest? In the US, teaching has been traditionally a female career, particularly at the lower levels.

what people fail to realize in this study is that something like 60-70% of the 40% of women are single moms.... so it's not 40% 2 parent households... also, why does FN always have to take the panic response to news like this?

No, the women in charge of ECE do not like having men work for them.

It gets people riled up and gets ratings. It's the same reason all national US news has become sensationalist BS, IMO.

Do not worry, FoxNews. Matriarchal societies like the ancient ones with human sacrifice of men for the queen is not going to occur ever again.

I watch it every day at school since it's on in the teachers lounge. That's exactly how he acts on Prime Time Shows. They even admit his role in this clip

This is all I have at my finger tips, http://www.earlychildhoodnews.com/earlychildhood/article_view.aspx?ArticleID=400

However there is much more out there.

Also I have 10 years experience getting educated in child development and working in ECE (preschool and special ed).  I left the field because it is so anti male.

That's just the dumbest comment I ever read. He brings up how it's natural for males to be dominant in animal species. Animals live outdoors, butt naked and have sex without even knowing why other than "put thingy in there feel good yay oh look baby I look after baby kthxbai". I think we're a bit above them. But if he wants things to be more like natures intentions perhaps he should go join them.

The greatest muscle a human posses by far and away is the brain. This muscle is equally as complex and powerful in both males and females. Almost everything outside of sport in society today utilizes the brain over anything else. Making women equal in almost every endeavour.

Would it have the same effect if I said it's our greatest organ? The whole point of the comment was to emphasis that it's more important than any of our muscles.

Which is also incorrect. Humans, with only a brain and no muscle, would be unable to actively do anything. Sure we could sit (or lay, seeing as we have no other muscle) and stare out into space thinking with our super important brains; However we'd be unable to move or use our brains for anything productive.

two things:

Pretty sure the average viewer age was revealed to be 65+, and that Fox often claims themselves to be entertainment, not news, and can get away with lying more often

The brain is often compared to a muscle because of neural plasticity. While they are obviously not the same thing, its a good analogy to get the idea across As to the actual topic, I am not surprised. I would be surprised if they have any actual women that watch the channel though
