What are some good free alternatives to Last.FM? I know Last.FM has a ton of artists, is there even such a thing as a free alternative with many indie artists?

You could give Imeem a try. It's not an online radio though, it's a site where you can save playlists or songs of anything that you find and you can listen to them whenever. For the longest time that site has replaced my ipod. lol.

Can't really think of any that haven't been mentioned. Do you not live in the US or UK (Last.fm is free in those two countries)?

I just use Last.fm for what I'm listening to on my computer. I don't really use the radio much.

The only part of last.fm that isn't free is radio, and in some countries it still is.

To be completely honest, radio is probably my least used feature of last.fm. I feel that the recommendations they give you from scrobbles are much better.

For 30 plays, then it costs a monthly subscription.

There's the real life radio. I know it's old fashioned but I'm sure there are still some radio singlas going around nwo and then.

Try Imeem and Pandora radio. Both are very good, especially Imeem, where you can basically search any song and favorite or playlist it.

Dizzler is pretty good, though I don't know how many indie artists are on there.

No worries, it was recommended to me by a user here, and now it's my "recommendation engine" where I save all the songs I want people to hear and then link them to it whenever I feel like it. Higher quality than youtube, more availability, can be accessed from phones...nothing bad about it. :)
