Or "chips" as you Brits like to call them. Anyways, which style is your favorite? Also, what is your preferred condiment for your fries?

Personally I'm most fond of curlies. And I like to dip them in my own personal "Fry sauce" (which is basically mayonnaise, ketchup, and yellow mustard).

I like any kind of chips! But they have to be soft and fluffy inside, I'm very particular about potatoes lol.

Chips & cheese with garlic mayonnaise from the kebab/pizza shop = best 'meal' ever!!

I'm not bias when it comes to fries. While I like straight fries such as those from McDonalds, I fancy wedges, homemade fries, steak fries, and I guess if curly fries are what i think they are then those.

All fries are created equal

You've probably seen them all, but just didn't know the names. Umm, a shoestring is a long, thin fry. Thick cuts are short, fat fries. Curly fries... well you probably know this one. Wedges are aptly named. And finally Crinkles are the ridged variety that is so popular with schools (at least all the ones I went to).

Fries originated in Belgium, France and Spain. "French" fries is just a slang Americans have given them.

Fortunately, that stupid name never caught on. Everyone I know of in the US, still calls them french fries or just fries.

Kinda agree, why we brits call them chips when they are mostly fried never made sense to me.

Still, our british chips own your american fries!
