Ok guys, so I'm bored and I heard a friend of mine has the first season of Fringe on his computer, so I was wondering, is Fringe worthwhile? Now when I look at shows I want intelligent character development and great story development. I like watching a show that explains itself in an intelligent manner not one that just sort of breaks down towards the end (like X-Files did once it started getting bad, although I love that show). So, do you recommend I start watching Fringe or should I pass?

I think so. I'm still watching the first season on Go! and I personally enjoy it. We should be up to the US by next year (have season 2 run first part of next year and then season 3 start at the same time the US one does).

Fringe is one of my favorite shows out now. The old guy who plays the scientist is hilarious...

Just saw the double-episode pilot. Pretty decent so far. It hasn't hooked me down right, but its off to an auspicious start.

I feel the same. It feels a little regressive, though it's only been two episodes, so we'll see where it goes.

Her pronunciation of certain words drives me nuts; I frequently make snarky comments about it while watching the show. She's an Australian doing an American accent, so it's understandable. Her enunciation gets less stilted by the beginning of season 2, though.

Oh, maybe she took some diction lessons. Anyways, thanks for the positive reinforcements everyone. I think I'm gonna keep watching the episodes. The pilot was better than I expected and I think with a few more episodes I might get hooked on :D

One caution; I nearly dropped the show early on because it looked like it was going to be purely episode "monster of the week" stuff. However, continuity gradually builds over the first 2/3 or so of the season and then kind of explodes at the end, making it a lot more interesting (in my opinion, anyway)
