Funniest shows on television (either currently or in the past)

So, I just finished Arrested Development on Netflix, and now it may be my favorite show of all time. It's absolutely hilarious and it's a shame that it only lasted barely 50 episodes. Anyways, I'm trying to find aother tv show that will make me laugh alot, so what are some shows that you consider the funniest you've seen. Some other shows I love that are hilarious are Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Community, Psych, and South Park.

Aside from the mentioned (love me some Philly and Community), try out The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret. Super short (12 episodes so far) but pretty great.

Did you see this past Thursday's episode of Community? It was great, and I've see that Todd Margaret show listed somewhere else before. I'll have to check it out.

Yeah, i watch Archer too, but i forgot to mention it. FX has the best shows. Justified is stupid good.

ha i used to always watch MXC when it would come on late at night. That stuff was just hilarious.

Alot of great shows being mentioned here, and im glad there are so many other arrested development fans. How that show was cancelled after only 3 seasons baffles me. Apparently Netflix has a deal to air a 10 episode mini season of the show beginning in 2013, then a movie is being made based on the show. I can't wait.

Also glad to see futurama fans. Am i the only one who thinks it's Matt Groening's best show, even better than the Simpsons?

And ive tried several times to watch Seinfield, but i just could never get into it. It's made me chuckle a few times, but i think i just find Jerry Seinfield and Michael Richards a little too annoying.

Oh and i can't believe I havent mentioned the show that is my profile picture. I absolutely love Scrubs.

Seinfeld. I still laugh at every episode every though I've probably seen each one ten times by now.

I Love AD, Community, Parks and Rec and I think Archer is pretty good, but Seinfeld is .....not funny. I have NEVER laughed once. Everything seems to layed on too damn thick.

It's more of a personal comedy, seeing yourself in situations that bear a similarity that many of the characters find themselves in. The comedy in the show is that it's actually trying to be a comedy, it's not just trying to seem like that jokes are just part of these peoples lives. AD, Community, The Office... these are all shows that follow the documentary format that makes it seem as if funny things happen to these people all the time, like it's normal and they don't have a reason to laugh about it, but we do.The jokes are all subtle or situational, not obviously jokes.

Seinfeld takes a different approach by turning these people's lives into jokes, we're supposed to laugh at their misfortune as they are so unbelievable, it's actually funny as all they do is blatantly throw jokes at you. Take Susan, George's fiancee, for example. After she started dating George, she was vomitted on, had her parent's cabin burn down, lost her producer job at NBC, and finally died when she licked hundreds of poisoned envelopes, and after she died, George barely cared. It's funny not because these things happened to her, but just thinking about how could things like this happen to one person. You can tell that the whole show is just stand-up personified. Not everyone finds these sort of things funny, but if you're willing to dumb down your sense of humor and just enjoy the show for being funny, and not hating on it for being incredibly forced, you'll have a good time.
