My longest car drive was probably South Florida up to North Carolina and it took about 16 hours or so.

i did over 4000 miles on my vintage yamaha tdm 850 Â a few years ago.
all the way from the east coast to the west and back.
Â
over 7500 miles over 3 weeks 2 summers ago.  it was awesome
Â
the longest stint was the first one.. nj to milwaukee, took 16 or 17 hours iirc
Jacksonville, FL to Lake City, FL it takes an hour each way. Yeah not long compared to others in this thread.Â
around 12ish hours.
wasn't fun. Had to leave to go get my brother from other mother 3 hours away, drive back home, then do all over again in same day.Â
Where in CO? Keystone or Breckenridge that time. I've been there skiing about 12+ times over the years.[QUOTE="KC_Hokie"]
Kansas City to DC area bunch of times (1000 miles).
In high school we all thought a trip to Colorado to ski wouldn't be that far...it's the next state over. 10 hours later (600 miles or so) we realized it was pretty far.

Boring as hell across KS. The wild sunflowers are nice certain times of the year though.[QUOTE="KC_Hokie"][QUOTE="Pirate700"]Where in CO?

those are some long drives... Why not just take a plane or train?Cataclismbecause the point of the trip was the trip, not the destination :)
felt this way driving around wyoming and utah... ridiculous.San Diego to Colorado Springs. I think it's like ~1700 miles. LOVE that drive. The whole way is like a USA Calender.

It's super relaxing. Just you and the open road. Nothing else like it.[QUOTE="CHOASXIII"]
I don't know how you guys stand driving such long distances, I lose it after a few miles around this place.Â
Pirate700
Meh, I don't think I'd have the patience. I like to just be going somewhere and get to that somewhere and leave it at that.Â

Nah man. The best of of a road trip is the drive. It's truly about the journey over the destination.[QUOTE="CHOASXIII"]

Nah man. The best of of a road trip is the drive. It's truly about the journey over the destination.I guess I've been in the car on trips too much with my parents over the years to care to want to go extremely far. lol Driving just doesn't do it for me.Â
Of course I'd rather drive any day then ever go on a plane because I don't want to do that.Â

Eh, to each their own. To me, there's very few things better than a long road trip if I have the time. Cruising Route 66 is something all Americans should do at least a few times.I don't know how you guys stand driving such long distances, I lose it after a few miles around this place.Â

hard to be bored with this out your windshield :)

That would get tiresome after a few hours.Â
Guess it depends on the person. Doesn't get old for me.[QUOTE="CHOASXIII"]

Â
but yeah.. to each thier own.
Yeah out west is the land of the roadtrip. To the painted deserts of AZ, to the red mesas and golden plains of NM, and the purple mountains and red canyons of Colorado, etc. out west of a drivers paradise.Never been out west, I've only been in the EST area. Furthest south I've been was South Carolina once, furthest north was Ohio.Â
