Warning: If you didn't see last nigt's episode don't read any further.

Okay so there was so much happening I still can't get my head around it. Khal Drago is dying, Danerys (khaleesi) is having a baby while the witch is doing her majic on Drago and goes into the tent (which she wasn't supposed to do under any circumstances), Rob captures Jaimee, the whiteling or whatever the people north of the wall are are coming and NED IS DEAD!!!! Joffrey you little $#%$^

What did you guys think about the story so far?

Maybe it's just me and maybe I am just jaded, but the TV show feels hyper-rushed story wise. Then again I have read all the released books.

I think they're doing that so the second season has a completely different dynamic.

No character is safe in the series.

sonicare

That's not really appropriate to say since a lot of people who watch the show haven't read the books.

Happens all the time too.

It'd be like asking guess who dies in Deathly Hallows, Pt. II?

That's hinting that someone is gonna die.

I think you are massively overreacting. All I said was no character was safe. There are literally hundreds of characters in the series. Nothing spoiled.

Besides, when a thread has the word SPOILERS in the title, most people come prepared.

I'm not being serious.

Anyone who's read the book can tell you.... NO ONE IS SAFE. Seriously. They will follow the story of some character or another, and then next thing you know, they're dead. Just like that.

Everyone you love in that series will die. I guarantee it. Boy, will you LOVE the Red Wedding, if the series ever gets to it.

Read the books a short time ago, so no surprises for me, although the series is still awesome to watch.

Biggest "wham" moment in the books so far.

I recall my friend returning my copy of Storm of Swords, all dirty and roughed up. I asked what happened: "The ****ing Red Wedding happened, you m*********er!" "No I mean, the book." "I threw it out the window." "You live on the 9th story of your building though" "And it deserved every second of it" "...."

I was so shocked with ep 7's ending, I still haven't watched ep 8. I've been watching a bit of ep 9, and looks like Eddard's still alive.

Yes but a character being killed in Harry Potter is a big event, as it happens rarely. In Game of Thrones, a lot of people die, this is only the latest, and far from the last. It should be clear by now that no character is safe.

George R.R. Martin is famous for killing off a lot of his characters.

I will say that it has become my top show. I know a lot of shows are on break, but it would still be number one regardless. I also like Camelot as another historical/fantasy/action show, but not as much. I decided I liked it so much that I downloaded the 4 books and am reading the first one. I'm still quite a ways behind but every week that the show ends and I'm left wanting more, it prods me and drives me to read the book so that I can see what happens. In my mind anyway. I still haven't determined in which order I prefer. Reading the book and then knowing what happens in the movie/show, but getting to see it visually -or- watching the show/movie and then reading the book after so that I can see what they missed. Either way, I'm sure I'm going to have read them all before I see them at the rate I am going. I just have to find out what happens after they nab Jaime.
