Wait Wait wait.....people can still get banned? Since I came back, I thought the mods have been chll. Now I want to know what happened.

They do seem to be more lenient than before, but you can still be banned. It seems most people banned are banned for repeated actions rather than just one or two specific posts.

That's a shame, he was around for a while iirc, but I also recall not really thinking much of him. But I could be wrong.

@toast_burner: I see. I made a thread about how much harder it is to get modded, but judging by how long you have been here you know more then I do. I remember when typing in an aggressive manner would get you suspended, and fad threads were an insta ban.

I get it now. Gamespot is trying to gamify the OT experience. You get three continues at the start and once you use them up it's Game Over for you.

Now if only Gamespot could possibly emphasize more on the more fun parts of gaming to make OT great again.

I forgot it was even possible to get banned here. Last person I remember was air and that had to have been like a year or two ago now.

After all, the community is so small now that we should treasure every member---even those with whom we disagree vehemently. I'm saddened by Iszdope's banning, even if it's for that reason alone.

In my opinion, sometimes moderators practice favouritism, it's like politics in the gaming world.

This wasn't a case of favouritism or politics. If anyone did what he did, with his record (which he wasn't shy about), they'd be gone too.

What I suspect happens is that occasionally people decide to leave, but rather than just leave they commit "suicide by mod" instead and force us to remove them.
