GameFAQs: Why I hate and refuse to go on their site anymore

It's because of their Poll of the Day, and how incredibly stubborn they are over it.

Normally, a poll isn't such a big deal to me. This one stands out though for two reasons:

1. The worst answers win every single time. This is especially difficult to deal with when the poll is about something I like (which it usually is). And if this is a joke, then it's gotten really old and stale.
2. The above, again wouldn't be a problem if it were somewhere out of the way, but no, it's smack-dab on the top of the front page.

I've tried numerous times to convince the moderators of the site to move the POTD somewhere else so that I can't see it, but they never listened. However, I found out from someone that I can just get into the site through the forums, that way I didn't have to suffer the poll.

I tried his suggestion and it worked. But the final blow was yet to come. I made a thread trying to apologize for my harsh behavior, but I couldn't find the right board to put the thread in. Then the moderators deleted the thread for Off-Topic Posting, even though I asked them to just move it to the right board.

I know there's a lot of helpful utilities and information on GameFAQs that I could really use for my games. And my friends want to go on the site for info even though I dislike it. But I can't stand the fact that the people there were so ignorant and stubborn and treated me like utter crap.

What should I do? Should I keep boycotting GameFAQs because of their attitude and the way they treated me? Or should I just shed my rep and go there under a different identity? Once again, the site offers a lot of goods, but the idiotic poll and the mods' attitude are enough to keep me from going there again...

Not quite. I actually like GameSpot's reasons for deleting my theads because they're reasonable.

We should take over their headquarters (with violence, of course) and force them to make better polls.

Oh my GOD. Selfish much? Why would they move the poll just for you? You DO realize that there are many other people that go to the site and that the world doesn't revolve around you. Don't you? Seriously, if you don't like the site because of the stupid poll of the day, DON'T GO THERE! The poll of the day isa pointless part of the website. The FAQs are awesome, and the top 10 lists are ok too. I don't go on the forums though, because the posters there tend to have, on average,50 less IQ points than on the OT.

i really enjoy the poll of the day. i wish that gamefaqs would post it on all forums and the home page. they should send updated email's to all it's users daily on the results of that fantastic poll. it's the only thing that keeps me going back to gamefaqs. so if they remove it then i will cancel my free membership to their online service, and come to ot to protest my reasons for boycotting gamefaqs. then we all win or lose...oh it just doesn't matter. for those ready to strike gamefaqs at dawn beware for me and my comrades have planned to strike you first at pre-dawn. :twisted:

Does a poll really make you that angry? Just becuase you're in the minority on the questions doesn't mean you should get annoyed by it? Is it such a big problem? I fail to see what can annoy you so.

And what makes you think they'll move the poll just for ONE PERSON?
