I'm very sensitive when it comes to locking a door. I always lock doors unless I know people might gripe about it (like locking my bedroom door). Well, I enter a bathroom at a fast food restraunt and I actually forget to lock the door. It's one of those bathrooms where there's only one stall, but I must've mistaken it as one of those larger public restrooms when I had walked in (usually, they're cleaner; single stalls are typically dirty because the restraunt's too cheap to clean it but this one was an exception). So, this guy walks into the bathroom, and despite the fact that I've already flushed the toilet, thus triggering the loud noise a toilet makes, he continues to walk in and takes almost three steps before he realizes someone else is in the bathroom (probably because he's old and old people are very insensitive to their surroundings). He eventually goes back out, not apologizing.
I ignore it and I go about washing my hands (because I always wash my hands) but I can hear him through two walls as he comes out and tells my friends who are with me to tell me to lock the door. Once I've washed my hands and exit the door, he gives me this long and loud orientation about how I should lock the door behind me and I just smirk it off thinking he's an old man that takes life too seriously.
Later, when we're about to leave, he comes out and brings up the locked door again. I just smirked, knowing that there are more important things in the world to be worried about, apologize if I had made any disturbance and leave while he still gives me this diatribe on locking doors.
The only time I forget to lock the door and this happens. I swear, I'm never going to leave a door unlocked again.
