GameSpot ending most of their live shows

The Lobby and Now Playing are now the only live shows that GameSpot plans to run. All other live shows will be cancel.

Thoughts?

Hopefully it's for restructuring and they will come up with new stuff with new people. Might be interesting.

I sincerely hope gamespot is not slowly closing down :(

Where does it say all other shows will be cancelled? That announcement makes me think only a couple of shows will be live, whereas the rest will be pre-recorded. And if that's the case, who cares? Does anybody watch the shows live anyway?

GameSpot live channels rarely pull in comparable numbers. They tried them and they just don't stick.

It's only the live shows that are getting canned. Not the video segments. Also, I believe Danny and Andy (the cameraman/editor) have change the schedule of the show to come out when they feel the need to make an episode instead of making it a weekly segment so they could have more time to do other projects.

Man Gamespot must be doing worse than I thought.

Someone has been making some stupid ass decisions for gamespot the past few years.

That says Now playing and The Lobby are the ones not live. Everything else is fine.

I guess the comment traffic wasn't enough to justify keeping the shows on air.

Can't say I'm sympathetic. Unions were destroyed in favour of them.

Gamespot is kinda dead to me now, House of Horrors was the only decent thing produced on this website, everything else i've seen either doesnt interest me or IGN seems to do it faster and more interesting, im soooo going to miss those fear induced singalongs Jess does when shes scared stiff while Zorine laughs at her uncontrollably, not to mention the "Ballz and Tits" being said every 5seconds by dear Jess.

Does it really cost that much to do live streamings nowadays for these websites?, i mean on twitch anyone can stream for free and use free software.

Checking Twitter, Jess announced that HoH is ending, so someone asked "What other shows are going?" and she replied "All live except for The Lobby and Now Playing."

I think TC should have posted the conversation to make it less ambiguous.

It's just like porn, now that everybody with a camera is doing the same stuff, they can't keep revenue even if their lives depended on it.

No worries =) I'm sure that anyone minimally familiar with Twitter knows to click the timestamp in the image you posted in order to see the whole conversation. I never used Twitter so it wasn't readily apparent to me ^_^

I didn't know this until now. I've never used Twitter before.

I anticipate replacement shows or alternative forms of news related to video games. GameSpot is one of the biggest video game sites in the world. There simply must be more to come.

Last night's HoH was really sad.. :(
