I sometimes wonder what goes on inside of the mind of a television executive. Making an series based off an ad campaign just screams "bad idea." This isn't going to end well for anyone involved with this show.

On the contrary, I believe it will usher in a new era of television and a multitude of caveman spinoff shows and imitators. The stars of the original will be catapulted to megastar status and everyone involved in the show will go on to do merchandising and movie deals!

Yeah, I've seen the ads. Potentially, the show could be great. Stranger things have happened. If someone came to you and pushed the idea of a show about a commical alien named ALF, would you think that show would be successful?

Anyway, the show might flop, but I'll wait until it comes out. If the writing is good, then the show has a chance. The commercials are well done. If the show captures the brilliance of the commercials, then the show has a shot. That's all I know for sure.

If ALF came out today, no way it would work. He came out in the late '80s and only lasted about 3 seasons, give or take. (Plus, there was a lot of cocaine used back then,I think thatmight explain how it got on the air in the first place.)

I don't have the links anymore but from what I read on other sites, the first couple of episodes that were aired for the execs didn't go over well. Maybe it MIGHT do well, but I seriously doubt it.
