Gender equality question...

OK if women and basically everyone tell us that both genders are equal and that they shouldnt be judged differently...then why do they also tell us ITS WRONG TO HIT GIRLS!!! why is it wrong to hit girls and not guys? arent we supposed to be equal? :P

Men and women are equal, but different. Yes, despite what our politically correct culture tries to drum into your head, there are things that set the two genders apart. In general, men are physically stronger than women. Therefore, a fist fight between the two is not equal. It just makes the man look like a bully and a brute. So no, it's not okay for a man to hit a woman, unless the woman is menacing his physical well-being in some way.

because when a woman gets hit, she is suddenly not equal, she has more rights than a man ever will, and when a woman hits a man, its okay since society allows it. i hate society.brown_flame

on a serious note,i really hate it when in danger women and childern get to be rescued earlier than men.i mean i can understand the children part.but i have hard time dealing with the rest.:|

Oh, it's this thread again.

There's a huge difference between equality under the law and equality, equality in the application of social mores. Men and women are not equal (generally) in physical ability, and this causes a social stigma against men attacking women. However they are equal under the law.

Basically, legal equality does not link to physical equality or moral equality. It makes no sense to construe the three as one.

Isn't this obvious? The two genders are not equal physically. That is why women don't compete in the NBA and NFL and for most olympic sports, they have segregated events by gender.

When people say women are equal to men, they are speaking in terms of intellect and potential in an academic or working environment.

I don't want to hit either gender, and I don't want anyone to hit me. BTW girls are still superior because I am one. :D :P

It depends what you mean by equal... Everyone is different. Girls are very different from guys. However, some things have to be equal, like salaries and such...

Because typicalwoman are slow and weak. They are fragile. They're not like a typical man that canfalloff a roof or get hit by car then stand up and walk away.

I would never hit a woman. Having said that, I hate the attitude that some women have where they think they can just hit a guy because they *know* guys cannot hit them back.
