I am a Christian though.. I just don't pray to Mary, so I definitely am not using the Rosary as a prayer bead.

As long as it's not being desecrated or anything, I don't see why they'd care. :?

Possibly. If you're concerned, I'd just say wear something else instead.

Yes, i'll be offended, a Rosary is a symbol of pray for us it was made for praying a Rosary, so using it only for fashion would be a disrespect to an article that was meant for praying, on a second though, maybe not offended, but kind of umconfortable.

Nah. First of all, they'd have to know you're not Catholic; secondly, it's free advertising; and most importantly, better a rosary than a Che Guevara tee.

1 Pic coming right up. They look the same... maybe slightly different I don't know, and the material may be different.. Slightly "precious" metals.. Cost a bomb too. Lol

Why would you wear a Rosary if you were not Catholic? That's like me praying five times a day with my sajjāda even though I'm not really Muslim.

Catholics pray to Mary so that she might talk to Jesus/God about it. personally I just tell Jesus/God directly.

Designer Rosary? Well I guess since it's the new "hot" thing to wear it makes sense for a company to charge money for them.

I'm a Christian lol. It's more like a Taoist praying to Buddha rather than praying 5x a day when you're not a muslim.

The Vatican did a study.....Okay stop laughing for a minute...and they found that Jesus was the #7 figure Catholics pray to.

That's why people say that the Christians have sub-deities.

I always remember being told in Catholic school that they aren't supposed to be worn. But I could be wrong. Either way, I wouldn't worry about what a church thinks of my fashion choices.

I think some of the more devout Catholics might take issue with it, but I think most would have a problem with it. I believe one of my teachers (Catholic high school) disapproved of it, but I can't remember the specifics of what was said.

I know that it's discouraged to wear it like a necklace if you're not using it. Not sure that it would personally offend me though. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosary#Wearing_of_the_Rosary

first off, no, why would catholics care? why would we care? secondly, we do not pray to mary as a sign that we worship her. we do not. we do not worship the pope, either, since i've read that people misunderstand the symbolism behind the pope. mary is jesus' mother, so we pray to her to INTERCEDE for us in times of need. there's a catholic belief that mary can help MEDIATE for us. we do not worship saints, we only patronize and honor them, we pray to them, so they can pray for us. because they are closer to God.

Isn't it defeating the purpose? Isn't fashion just so you can get laid? How you gonna accomplish that with a rosary?

I see chav guys and girls wearing baby blue and light pink rosaries and I think, "Why?"

Seriously, I'm not offended by it. But I don't see why rosaries are cool. They make you look stupid imo. It bugs the hell out of me.

+1; I also feel the same way when i see people with weird Keychains things, tattoos, piercings, etc.

And I know that it may be a sign of depression if people have these things, and I should be supportive, but it just bugs me.

What? No. Why would we/they care?

I guess I wouldn't understand why you would, real rosary beads are really long and cumbersome, but if you really wanna be viewed as Catholic or somehow see style within them then go for it I guess. I've seen worse fashion fads.

And you can just pull out the "love thy neighbor" card if they say anything.

depends ALOT on what group of Catholics you think about, and thier placement on the world map, I very much doubt the European Catholics gives a d*mn, as long as you dont wear a hat in thier churches :P

the american? well up north I think they are pretty indifferent, but south it might be a bit of a problem.

a religions placement in the world generally effects the way it thinks far more then the book it follows.

Whaaa? Designer rosaries? First I hear of this...

I wear one, but I don't wear it to flaunt it, and I do pray it. It might offend some, not really me, but I'd be completely puzzled.
