german class is not good to me!

I'm taking my second year of german class but my previous year I did not learn a thing because I had probably the worst teacher i've ever had in any class ever even though I still did well. My teacher this year is much more challenging.

How am I supposed to take a german class when I don't even know German?!?!

well the teacher i had last year was just plain terrible

my parents want me to take german 2

they also insist that i will be fine and do not need tutoring
