Dude, it's a pretty enjoyable experience. They put you under with laughing gas and get you high for half your day, then give you painkillers to take for as long as you need them. If all goes according to plan it should be a pretty painless procedure all the way through. Plus I cannot tell you how good it feels to not have those damn teeth poking through your gums all the time.
When you wake from the anesthesia you just feel so amazing, but you cant sleep right away or youll die
pretty much sucked. my top wisdoms roots were all tangled so they had to do some intense digging to get em out. when i had the meds in me it was good. (got lortabs). but they would wear off when i was asleep and it would just be excruciating pain till the next round kicked in. i dont know about everyone else. but i hated the feeling from the painkillers. i mean they did a good job. but it just made me really uncomfortable and uneasy with my surroundings
By far the worst part is the sound, the popping and crunching. The pain isn't so bad, so long as you take care of your wound. Dry socket is what hurts like the dickens.
:P
It's not even bad. It'll be numbed beforehand. I've had mine out and all you feel is slight discomfort.
Dude its not that bad. Honestly the worst part is waking up and feeling sick and groggy for a couple hours after. I puked in the parking lot, felt much better, went home and watched movies and ate soup (homemade! mmmmmm chipotle chicken chowder, italian sausage and white bean soup...mmmmm) for a couple days.
The meds work great. I highly recommend getting something to keep the swelling down. I didnt even need any vicadin and sold it to my friends.
HAHA:
Anyways. Good luck with that. Worst pain of my life. My mouth hurt so bad I could barely function for about 3 days. But I had "hugging" roots that wrapped around my jawbone. I was numbed up and just remember feeling immense pressure, creaking, cracking ... they even had to drill through parts of my jaw to extract the teeth.
But I am sure your experience won't be THAT bad.
It hurt. They numbed me up pretty good, and when I'm numb, I have this thing where I bite myself or stuff. I always try making myself feel the pain afterwards. Well when we were in my car, the doctors told me not to bite my tongue.. well I did anyway, and it bleed.
It differs from people to people if it hurts or not, I havent had any wisdom teeth removed myself (only 4 normal ones for braces, mycousin and my sister had thiers pulled tho...
My sister were fine afterwards, she was pretty drugged up, but the day after she was more or less fine.
My Cousin on the other hand were pretty much down in 3 weeks... Maybe hes just a sissy tho ;)

That's no problem, all four of mine our out. They broke one in half in my mouth pulling it. Hardly felt it.
What you don't want to ever have is a Root Canal. My brother smashed me in the face with a mini keyboard when I was 7 and killed the root in my front tooth. 7 years old having a root canal really sucked.
I had mine pulled just before 8th grade, and they were already all the way out and straight as my other teeth. The doc just used a laser to slice each tooth in half and pull them out with minimal force. The holes that were left were kinda annoying (food kept getting stuck in there).
My cousin's grew in all messed up, so the docs had to slice up his gums and he was in all sorts of pain.
The process of pulling out your teeth is not bad at all. I was awake when they pulled out my tooth. They "froze" a side of my mouth and it didn't hurt at all. I'll tell you though, that it did feel unusual. Now its the pain after the procedure that will get to you.
Well i had mine pulled out buy an oral surgeon and i must say there was no pain involved. I was sedated and put to sleep, woke up about an hour later and felt nothing. The proceeded to give me Painkillers and i was drugged for about a week. I had no pain and after about a week i was just fine. Eating normal foods and such. Just make sure you trust your dentist/doctor and go in with good thoughts.
Ask for novicaine and gas. I had the combination when i got my bottom ones taken out and it made the procedure a hell of a lot easierchicknfeetpfft. You don't need gas.
had mine done a few years ago. it was surprisingly easy.. though my teeth had already erupted through the gums so there was no need to slice up my gums.. plus i had some sedatives which were fantastic :)
