I have such a hard time getting out of bed because the last year i have been doing part time work and school which both start in the afternoon, so i grew the habit of staying up later and sleeping in. Im trying to get a full time job for now and getting out of bed 3 hours earlier is killing me, i have no motivation to get up! How do you guys get up early and shake off that horrible morning feeling?

You should throw out your bed so then you will never have a bed to not get out of again.

What wakes you up? Coffee? OJ? Having the sun spill into your room? Figuring out what would be a motivation to get up after repeating the snooze alarm helps a lot. (And having a dog to walk does too hahaha - if only they learn when weekends are)

I don't really care if i'm late to school. So sometimes i get up late. There's no reason to go if you can't at least be awake.

Stay up all night, one time. Then the next night go to bed early enough to get the same amount of sleep as you did before. Also set 2 alarms one to go off say at 7:30 and another at 7:35.

This is usually all it takes me to adjust to a new schedule.

Well... On some mornings, when I don't have swim practice before classes, I just decide to sleep through my classes and enjoy my bed...

I suck getting up in the morning. Morning is my enemy. What I do, though, is put my phone alarm clock on and put it away from my bed. Then I'll hear it and know that I HAVE to get up or listen to it for a minute as it goes off. Doesn't help that it repeats five minutes afterwards. What else? Hm, well, that's pretty much it unless the cat starts clawing the hell out of my door.

I have to go to school in 3 hours and 30 minutes. I'm just not gonna sleep. You could try getting a beautiful women to wake you up.

You need to pull an all nighter to shift your body clock back three hours and you'll be fine.

My biggest enemy when trying to wake up is my bed.

So comfy...so cozy...so warm...don't want to leave it......

Well I have a similar problem but in reverse. One semester at college my schedule for the whole week started at 7:00 so became accustomed to it. So because I had to take the bus I used to wake up at 5:00. Now I HAVE to schedule my classes to start at 7:00 because I can't shake the darn thing off even though I have my own car now. Plus I always get to choose my parking, nobody is on the road and I like the quietness off 5:00am.

Well, I have school, and most of th time I don't go to bed early. I'm usually running on like 4 hours of sleep, but I usually drink a cup of coffee before leaving. So something caffiney like coffee.

Noisy way : buy a clock with a big bell and loud ring. Set it and put it near your room's door far from your bed.

Mythical way : pat your pillow 3 times and said what time you want to wake up. It worked for me. taught by my school teacher.

The knowledge that questions will be asked if I don't show up where I'm supposed to show up each morning. Awkward questions.

In all seriousness though, give it a while and your body will adjust. It won't be the most pleasant of transitional periods but it'll happen.

Put an alarm at the other side of the room, so you have to literally get out of bed to stop it. Then what I usually do is get into a shower straight away and leave for work straight away.

It works for me. If I'm doing the late shift I stay up until 1am and get up at 8am, if I'm doing the early shift I stay up until midnight and get up at 6am, and if I'm not working I stay up to 2am and get up at 11am :P

I lay in bed for a Second, Get up, Splash face with cold Water, do some exercises, and drink some Tea. It's worked so far, I had to get up at 5:00 A.m. for school all last Semester :P

Would just like to thank this thread for reminding me to change my alarm. I'm not going to be late for school tomorrow now.
