No stitches? When did you have it done? My sister said she had the stitches that dissolved over time. She said she had no pain at all (she had 5 extracted). I'm having 4 extracted and from what I have read it seems everbody's a bit different. bedram793
I think I was 17/18 at the time... I have a crazy dentist and he left them open to close/heal themselves and they did.
Advil is your friend
and ice
and try to eat stuff that you can either swallow without chewing or a soft food like soup.
mine actually went unusually well, I had little to no swelling, the second or third day I kinda looked like I was 12 again, but I was eating ham that very night. Yes, ham.
And I got all 4 pulled at once and two had to be dug out..the guy who did it was a miracle worker I swear.
I dont mean to scare you, but mum had her wisdom teeth taken out all at the same time and apparently it hurt like hell
I already has mines taken out, the 4 at the same time. The surgery isn't that painful, but after it, the worst part begins.Thiago26792
Really nervous right now. Anybody want to share their own experiences? bedram793
Everybody reacts differently. I had all 4 taken out at once. They gave me a badass drug cocktail through an IV, plus a week's supply of vicitin. I was never really in any pain, the only thing that sucked was eating nothing but yogurt, soup, and pudding for a few days.
I'm fine guys. I don't even have pain really. Just thumping (if you know what I mean) where they made the cut. I barely have any swelling and the worst part was just the headache I had. My dad said I walked to the car, but I don't even remember that. They hooked me up to an IV then they gave me shots to numb my gum. bedram793
awesome dude!
I bet you appreciate life a little more now. :D For a short while at least.
[QUOTE="_BlueDuck_"]When I had mine done they shot me up with an IV of valium, and it was the best day of my life.Dutch_Mix
Ha ha. I didn't get Valium, but I did get a ton of painkillers. ^_^
Yeah it was actually ridiculous. I was still awake during everything and I could hear my jaw and teeth crunch as they were pulling them out and I could see blood squirt out yet I was just happy as a clam. They could have been sawing my arm off and I still would have been having the time of my life. Afterwards I had codeine for when the valium wore off, unfortunenatly there was a one hour gap between the valium wearing off and when I could pick up my perscription, and that one hour was horribly painful. God bless those drugs.
I don't understand, do they give you local anestesia/something to knock you out or do they just say "Open your mouth and try not to squirm"? Cuz i'm gonna have to get em pulled pretty soon...Mr_Korean
It really depends on your case and how embedded your teeth are and such. At the very least they'd num your gums and give you some pain killers, or in other cases where more surgery is required they'll give you anestethics (sp?). As I said I personally had an IV of valium, which didn't knock me out but I was certainly not coherent, nor did I feel any pain during the whole procedure.

Dude... that's hardcore. You didn't feel anything?
I don't remember anything about my surgery. I was just sitting there in the chair watching VH1 and the next thing I know the tech is trying to help me stand. I remember vaguely asking if they'd removed all the teeth, but I don't recall ever receiving a reply.
there is no such thing as five ??? WTF ??It's not so bad, actually. I had five wisdom teeth removed at the same time, and I didn't experience that much pain. The hours after the surgery are the worst as you'll have all of this swelling and oozing to deal with.
Are you being put under?
