Most Gibson models are too heavy for me (I've got back/neck problems)
but I do love SG'S
BUT, I'm a major fender fan, especially lately. I've got a Mustang and I'm picking up a telecaster soon.
You're all wrong! Dean FTW!
No, wait, Ibanez FTW.
no...um, BC Rich FTW...
Kramer ftw?
Forget it, there are a ton of great companies out there. As for me, I'm getting This Bad Boy once I can afford it
Gibson. Fenders are ugly, and totally not metal.GreenmonsterBLSFalse False False. Jimmy Page played a Les Paul and has his own signature model. Zakk Wyld has some custom models also. Those are only two. If you are going to tell me that Led Zeppelin and Ozzy/ Black Label Society aren't metal then I don't know what to tell you. Personally, I would play a Gibson for harder music and Fenders for brighter tone.

ya fenders are mainly used in the pop, punk scene(Paramore Blink 182), gibsons are usally used in the Rock,Metal,Emo scene (Linkin Park, Flyleaf, My Chemical Romance, Senses Fail, AC/DC)
ESP all the way! gameroz
YES! mi amigo, you have the right idea. I have an Alexi 600 and it's amazing. i need to get the truss adjusted and it all set up for some really heavy gague strings im gonna put on but i love that guitar with a passion. i really want the gl 56 though. that guitar's classic. actually, the entire george lynch line is amazing.
but given gibson or fender, gibson straight up. i love the explorer, it's so metal. and it's actually a very versatile guitar (my cousin's bf has one and it rocks [excuse the pun])
Honestly, apples and oranges. Totally different tones.Which one I choose for a particular project depends on what sound I'm going for.
If we're talking about feel, I prefer Telecasters. They just fit me. Les Paul's are a little heavy, but feel great. SGs drive me nuts; I can't stand how it's not balanced, and if you let go of the neck the headstock will slide downwards.
If we're talking about bass, I'll play a Fender J or P, again, depending on the project.
