I like the SG a little more, but it's you choice. Go to a store and test play them. Pick the one you like.

Actully the greatest debate is the Strat and the Les Paul and I still pick the strat overall but he Stock Les Paul I would pick for metal. I play and listen to more Rock and Blues so personally I would go for that thin strat sound but overall you're gonna get stellar guitar no matter what you pick.

thats 2 very different guiatrs... The SG has "balls" and a thicker toner with its double humbuckers, and more sustain since its a set neck... the Strat has that classic look with twangy single coil sound. It all depends what type of sound ur going for... I wouldn't suggest a Strat if ur gonna be playing "newer" heavier stuff. but we all know how good the strats sound in maiden...HAHA. All depends dude!

Strat's tend to have more of a classic tone, and SGs tend to have a heavier tone. I prefer the SG.

That's a tough one. How do you pit the likes of Clapton and Hendrix against Jimmy Page and Angus Young? I think myself a strat man, but a friend just bough a solid black SG and damn the thing sounds sweet.

Tough questions, they both have their ups and downs. I lean towards the SG, but play them both.

If you want to play fast, go with the SG. If you wanna have a better sound, go with the Strat.

Between the SG and Strat? I'd go with the Strat.

Les Paul and Strat? Les Paul totally.

Each are good for their own type of thing really though..

Well, I'd take a Rickenbacker over those 2 any day, but if I had to pick one, I'd go for the Strat.....

Someone said it already, but it should be Strat vs. Les Paul

And I'd pick the SG AND the Les Paul over the Strat... but that's just me.

I like better the Sg because I like more hard rock and because AC/DC and Led Zeppelin are my favourite rock bands:twisted:

id rather a les paul custom or even a studio over a strat. but against the sg the strat is superior
