Here use this next time.
You should get them something from here that they probably don't have in Germany. I dunno what it would be though.

Not in these forums you shouldn't and it won't be tolerated. That said knock off the Hitler references in here.
Knock off the Hitler references? As in, pretend the man never existed?
It was a joke. The bobblehead comment didn't go over the line. People need to get their panties untwisted and understand when a person is just joking. Do I really think all Germans are Nazis? Of course not. That's the point of a joke: taking an extreme for a situation which translates into something funny. That's why stereotypes are funny: because we know they're not realistic.
People are allowed to make jokes about Americans being moronic overweight heathens. Why is a single German joke smitten?
EDIT: I truly hope you don't moderate me for this post, because frankly, all I am doing here is voicing my opinion. It is your right to rebutt my opinion, and I look forward to your rebuttal.

Not if a mod refuses to engage in intelligent discussion and chooses just to mod anyone who shows dissent (not suggesting that's something Krall does).

Hardly a fair defeat, like claiming a guy lost a duel because the other person shot him before he got a weapon.
On the subject of the thread... that's a good question. I'd go with the suggestion of American candy, probably something markedly American. I'd suggest buying some souveneirs in the airport before you board the plane to Germany.

And blatantly cheating to win is a good win?
Best way to win an internet argument: Be the first guy to leave a thread. The other guy can declare victory, but it's a hollow one. Not that you'd mind, apparently.

You know there is a point where jokes aren't funny anymore and calling German Nazis is a stupid, ignorant 62 year old joke that never had any substance. Sure we can't ignore what happened but funnily enough this guy is remembered way too often. I mean hardly anybody makes Stalin jokes even though he killed millions in labor camps called gulags. Nobody rememebers the Japanese massacre on the chinese, etc...

This summer I am going to Krefeld, Germany for 7 weeks. The people in charge of the program recommend that I bring gifts for my host family. What would a German family like? Gift ideas?super_moog
I also been last month at a German host family because of a student exchange from Israel

Very much untrue.
I'd be happy to answer moderation questions in the Ask the Mods forum: http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_topics.php?board_id=909091235. Bringing this up here is killing the OP's topic which I was trying to prevent with my comment, but I'll elaborate on my first post:
Hitler obviously existed, I don't have a problem with him as a topic of intelligent discussion. To make light of his crimes by bringing a bobble head of him to a host family in German is not funny in the context of this forum where people from all over the world are reading it. Also you have to consider that 60% of this thread at the time had negative Hitler jokes so either they all have to be removed or none of them which isn't an option.
Making jokes about Americans in that light is not allowed either and should be reported.

Yeah, but Stalin's moustache was nothing original. Hitler clearly didn't grow that moustache for himself, he had bigger plans for Ol' Swastistache. Please Log In to post.
