Paul McCartney-Ram
Figured since people claim modern artists are just as good as classic ones, then it wouldn't be too difficult to find one that can replicate this album/do it better.

Since people claim classic artists suck, so it wouldn't be too difficult to replicate it?How would repliating an album be as good?
ScorpionTroll
There are modern artists/groups that can make a better album.
I don't know how "replicating" that album would make a great artist. Seems like that would just make whoever did the replicating a good cover band.:?

jesuschristmonk
definitely not my favorite McCartney album.
but anyway, blues travelers could probably do a pretty good, if not interesting job of it.

That album is not even that good. You could have atleast used Band on the Run (not that that would have made this thread much better).
GreySeal9
Lol
Do you think Ram is better than Band on the Run?
Never listened to Band on the Run other than "Band on the Run". Besides Ram was a solo album and I like the rawness of it.

I basically count Wings album as Paul McCartney albums since the other members of the band never really had any creative imput.
I don't like Ram because it is part of the period where McCartney was pumping out nothing but half-assed ditties. IMO, songs like Band on the Run, Jet, Let Me Roll It, etc. kill anything on Ram.

Stupid premise. Stupid thread.
GreySeal9
As dumb as the premise is, I still don't understand why he would base the thread on such a mediocre album.
If you think the thread and the premise is so "stupid" then why do you care so much about what album? Contradicting yourself.[QUOTE="GreySeal9"][QUOTE="worlock77"]

Contradicting yourself.I shouldn't even answer you because you're just being bitter as usual but I'll try to explain to you, using words that hopefully won't hurt your head too much, why the choice of album is important.
Before we start, you'll need to put your thinking cap on:
If one is making a thread based on the merit of old music acts, then it pays to actually use an album that is known to be one of the defining albums of its era. Paul McCartney's Ram album is not one of those.

Meh, either way I will give my opinion on the other ones when I hear the other ones.

I don't know of anyone who considers 'Ram' to really be anything more than a footnote in McCartney's career.

Irony. If you think the thread, and premise is stupid, but then you go on to talk about the album choice, you are contradicting yourself.[QUOTE="GreySeal9"]

I don't either. To me, Ram was not a serious effort. Like the album before it and two albums after it, I think Ram was more about McCartney just letting out some creative energy.

precisely why hardly anyone would even bother to cover it. it was picked to make an outrageous point.Noel Gallagher could replicate it, but as others have said...why?
Gary Numen could provide an interesting take on it...
Wut?ASKING ALEXANDRIA! Why? Because they are "hardcore, drinkers and can do anything! Cause they're harda$$'s!" ...codymcclain14
