with the way people treat there stuff today thats not a good idea, unless you look at it from the standpoint of how many times people will have to pay to get it repaird then its a genius move for apple

its called toughglass. its really hard to break. i mean you can take the edge of a key to it and it wont even scratch the surface. so yeah it was a good idea by apple. and im not saying that with the sarcasam you are
Well you can see out a window and that's glass :|DrSponge
there is nothing blocking the other side of a window so light comes in through both sides so you dont notice it, take a piece of glass, put it on the floor or something and youll see light reflecting off of it like crazy

i dont wanna see my reflection on a computer screen though, glare is incredibly annoying. I mean if im using this in college in a bright room trying to type something its going to drive me nuts because the way lights reflecting off of it i wont be able to see all the words correctly, make mistakes constantly ect.

my point was you are going to get glare in everything bcause like you said before light reflects off of everything. so no matter what your gonna get glare

the previous ones got very little to none at all
I actually think its a pretty smart move. Glass screens are 100% less prone to ugly little scratches and such. Reflectivity isnt really that big of a deal when your focusing on whats being displayed on the screen rather then the screen itself.

Agreed, with the screens really bright and you're focusing on what you're doing, I doubt that reflections are a big concern.
Were you expecting them to make a good product?Shad0ki11
I'm guessing the answer you're looking for is 'no'? Well you're right...
[QUOTE="ish27"]Well, would you rather a sheet of Iron II Oxide?the_foreign_guy
Dihydrogen oxide would've been better.
I was going to suggest Bihydrogen oxide, which is a different way of saying the exact same thing... Despite the fact that you thought of it first, I'm still going to say that you stole my idea.

but then you would have to keep it below 273 kelvin.*Facepalm* Apple has lost it. There going to the HP side with their really bright glaring screens._LiquidFlame_
I have a brand new HP and I like the screen on it the only time the glas is a problem is when the sun is shining straight into it.
