I was talking to a co-worker who is Greek and I was telling her in regards to the game God of War II and it so happens that the story of Prometheus is as real as it can get to history knowledge. I mean Mythology, my bad. How true to the history are the characters in God of war playing their part ? Does anyone really know ? I am very surprised at how close it is the the real history !

Well history is a poor choice of words, perhaps "Mythology", and yes, Prometheus steals fire from the Gods and gives it to man, and when Zeus finds out, he sentances him to eternal punishment.

And as for the Titans, their backstory is true. The only part made up is the journey Kratos takes.

yeah.. its called greek mythology. And it's nothing new. By the way most common forms of media.. books/movies/videogames all use references to past mythologies and history.. generaly they skew the image of those ideas, but it's still the same idea.

Sparta is still in ruins from when Zeus grew to almost 700ft and trampled it.  Thank the Lord (our Lord anyway) for Kratos.

Growing up Catholic and in America I can't say I've ever been told of this Mythology, maybe I had heard a little but I don't know nothing. I will be learning as I play God of War II and I will be researching on the internet more, and more. So interesting ! thanks everyone

Of course its not real, Kratos is the creation of Sony.  And of course because the storyline is based around Kratos killing every mythological creature and god that exists.  Of course people would take it as innacurate.

Also.  How could you know almost NOTHING about greek mythology?  Did you not attend school?

There is a good deal of mythology in it sych as the war between the titans and the gods. Chronos eating his children and atla having to hold up the world. There are more but i'm not going to through every one.

Well here is one for you, they did not have Sex Ed in this school so guess what ? I went to high school not knowing how to have sex or had no idea how, so I shied away till the head finest chearleader of the school went out with me and I slept over her house, only to discover the greatest gift of all time. Yeah ! it was like a movie which I had never seen till later in my years. Some how not knowing attracted more girls in high school and of course I lucked out with the finest of all girls the head cheerleader.
