This could be one of the most epic films in a while or one of the worst fails in movie history. That said, I love the Godzilla character and hope they pull this off.

Anyways this sounds great.

I liked Godzilla 2000. At least I think I remember liking it. :P My only problem was the special effects weren't that great for the late 90s. You look at Jurassic Park and that was amazing in 1993 and still holds up to todays special effects but Godzilla 2000 looks pretty dated now.

Honestly, I'm not really very interested in Godzilla.

All those giant monsters were awesome wqhen I was 10 years old, but these days they just sort of bore me.

Atleast they used CGI instead of cardboard lol. Also i thought that Godzilla was by far the most realistic looking (obviously) and really at the end it made you really feel sorry for the lizard (almost like King Kong but KK was forced to NY).

It will be a prequel, dealing with adolescent Godzilla and his problems fitting in in high school, and pop bands will do cameo appearances.

I liked the revised look given to Godzilla in the 98 movie. It made him look more like a giant lizard and less like a guy in a rubber suit.

i would have liked the movie so much more if they justdiddnt name it godzilla, while i do think its a good movie, its not a good godzilla movie. i do think the creature looks cool....but its not godzilla

and yeah i did feel really sad when they shot the lizard to death. i got alittle teary eyed :P (hey i was like 9)

also thats something they messed up bad, the original godzilla would take those rockets like nothing, hell he could take friggen lazer beams, but the giant lizard died from like 4 or 5 shots

Well your forgetting the army of Apaches he somehow out ran and hid from and then sneaked behind them and destroyed a bunch. It also had to take on the army and was getting hit from tons of M16's and tank fire but could also dodge alot of the rockets. If it didnt get tangled up in the bridge then it probably would of gotten away. It also escaped a couple of subs but not before destroying atleast one i think.

Agreed. The problem with staying true to the classic is that it is, quite honestly, somewhat ridiculous. Which is fine since it's an old monster movie, but I think it needs to change to meet modern day standards.

I love Godzilla, so I'm excited about this. I've watched almost every Japanese Godzilla film.

They already have its called Cloverfield.. That is the peak of the recent monster movie genre, I doubt a new Godzilla movie would come any where close to it. Furthermore the first two Godzilla movies that are black and white are the only ones worth watching. The American one with Mathew Broderick was AWFUL.

No Toho = No Godzilla

Also, that picture of that abomination is one of the worst looking things anyone has ever tried to call Godzilla

The only thing I remember about the 98 Godzilla was that there were a bunch of baby Godzillas running around an office building. And that doesn't exactly scream 'Godzilla movie'.

they're probably gonna end up trying to make it all serious and dramatic and fail horribly. godzilla was cheesy as hell and thats what made it great.

Hopefully they can get Myley Cyrus to play the love interest. She'd be the one girl who's kind and deep. She'd teach Godzilla about music and the importance of being yourself.

Not the first two movies which most would widely agree were the greatest.. In the original movie, Godzilla wasn't the "good guy" of the kiddy movies later on.. They infact killed him in the end of the movie.

I hope it comes out good unlike the movie that took place in New York. That was one awful movie IMO.

the first American made Godzilla was the latter unfortunately. I was just about to post this, I hope it comes out and I hope they don't **** this one up again.

I'm certainly in the minority when it comes to the '98 movie. I really liked it.

That. was. AWESOME! One thing I especially love about the good Godzilla movies (Godzilla '98 not included) is the bad ass music.
