Im graduating in a week or so and I never really had a decent job, its been all fast food and department stores for me. I was wondering, what would be a good annual salary to shoot for? Any perks I should keep an eye out for?

You're graduating college without even an internship? You will be very lucky to find a job at all...But salaries will still vary wildly.spazzx625yeah it does... I graduated without an internship since I had a family already when I was still in school... my son was a mistake but I wouldn't take him back for anything... but it does suck my job sucks and since I have no experience I am just a college graduate with a piece of paper that means nothing...
I'm Australian so my opinion probably doesn't count for much, but whatever the average salary is would be a good target.

Id like to stay in Ohio/WestVirginia/PA area if i can.
[QUOTE="rawsavon"]It is all about location, location, location...60,000 in Dallas is much different than 60,000 in NYCwstfldTell me about it. I have to get the hell outta here. A special at the bar is $5 Bud Light. WTF? No joke I got mad about 2.50 beer in Lubbock...now I would love to pay that
depends on the position as well as the location of course. but really it's tough to get a decent one straight out of college if you don't have any experience.
oh almost forgot. also depends on what benefits you get and how much unpaid overtime is expected. I know a few that make good bank but work like 12 hour days and are on contract so no vacation or sick days and no benefits(healthcare, retirement fund, etc).
With no on the job experince you better be a quick learner. A good starting salary for you would be what ever pays the bills. Once you get some experince under your belt then you can try to move up or move on, for that pie in the sky salary. My advice for you is dont commit carrier sucide by taken a job that only gives limited experince in your field.
