Good people of OT... is this a girls car?

I need a second opinion. Many second opinions. You see, i drive this bad boy:

Obviously it's an old car, and as such it needs damn-near constant repair and maintenance. I've really enjoyed the ride of getting it to work. It's very relaxing to work on your own car, and it feels great when you get it up and running.

But right now i dont want a project; i want a freakin' car. Something which doesn't require me to whisper a prayer whenever i get in and want it to start. I was thinking of upgrading to one of these:

But to my surprise, they're actually insanely expensive. Even used ones break ten grand (£s, not $s). So i've ended up looking at:

I've always liked the 500, but often thought it was a bit girly. Of course i've customised this one to look as manly and badass as possible; but i'm not convinced.

Is this a girly car?

A good general rule of thumb is that if it looks like you could lick a car all over without cutting your tongue on something, it's girly.

So yes to that 500. And yes to the Mini (especially the new one - the old one not so much, except it's like riding in a shoebox).

Hmm, the last one does look a little girly, I'm just being honest. I can totally picture a girl driving up in a pink version of that...

Yeah, it does look kind of girly. But I'm not sure that's what I would think if you hadn't already put the idea in my head.

Next time ask "What do you think about the look of this car?", so that you don't lead your audience into an answer.

It's a car. If you drive it, you places faster, and you can put things in it for easy transportation.

And just to make it clear; i live in a huge city of tall buildings and city streets. So a big sedan isn't what im looking for; thus, dont compare based on that.

And just to make it clear; i live in a huge city of tall buildings and city streets. So a big sedan isn't what im looking for; thus, dont compare based on that.

Honestly, you should not care what people think of about your car. I mean, its their opinion, if they think it is "girly", or looks stupid, thats their opinion. As long as you like your car, and you don't think its girly, your fine.

Just make sure you make the right choice.

Thanks for the opinions guys. I think i was just nervous cause stupid Jeremy Clarkson said it was girly. I was planning to go put a deposit down next month, then i hear him say it was a girls car on tv and thought "WHURT!?"

I've spent over four grand on it and have only owned it about two years. :? I was gonna do exactly as you said, but there's a limit. When it appears that literally every single componant of the car is breaking, one after the other, and will only stop when you've fixed ALL of them, you have to cut your losses and move on. :P
