I usually listen to grunge, metal, rock and the rest. Some of my favorites are Bless The Fall, Oasis, and The Offspring. Recently I got into rap, not new rap but old 90's gangster rap. Like Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and Tupac. What are someother good gangster rap artists from the 90's? Please don't come in herejust to say rap sucks, or rap isn't realmusic or any of that stuff, it's all personal opinion.

A tribe called Quest made great music and Wu-Tang Clan if you wanna stick to the 90's stuff. And Notorious BIG of course. If you like Dr. Dre. then give D.J. Quik a look to.

Wu-Tang Clan is pretty good, I remember a neighbour got me a shirt and I had no clue who they where. Decided to look them up at the time and they're pretty good. Prince Naseem Hamed had one of there songs as his entrance music at one point.

Not really sure if this is what you're looking for, but give Lupe Fiasco and Mos Def a try. They're one of the few rap artists I actually enjoy listening to.

Omg I saw Soulja boy on your list and almost died a little, but it said worst so good :P

But I have to disagree with 50 cent and G-unit for that matter, as well as Akon, Akon isn't a rapper and 50cent is just to fake, if you listen to rap for the lyrics then after a while you realise that 50cent has no talent, but thats my opinion

Though that list contains Every Big artist and I agree with Ludacris, he's a bit underrated but every one of his songs is dope

Thanks alot everyone for contributing. I like VERY few 50 Cent songs. Maybe 2-3 are good. Ludacris is pretty good though, and that reminds me to go get some of his stuff.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Dear Moleskin Live

Lyrics for Dear Moleskin:

have you ever ever ever been depressed so bad
it was a struggle every day not to regret your past
feeling cursed like you never ever get your swag
and you be speeding down the highway when your threshold pass
when you cried all your tears out
and one page of your diary can tell you what your year bout
thats a lonely place
my mama said son why such a lonely face
because the pressures (depression) on me
plus i feel like bill murray trapped in Punxsutawney
dr phil told me that i can sell crack or hit the army
look at where we live at
tell me you dont hear that
tell me you dont feel that
show me to the way out
tell me when pastor raphael gon' reveal that
if not man im outta here
im just a sleep walking robot thats outta gear
i stick my nose out the water to the sky for air
lama sabachthani (translates to 'why have you forsaken me')
trying to see light but the devil trying to blind me
the grim reaper walking with a shovel right behind me
trying to introduce me to the untimely unkindly
walk the line finely like johnny cash
but i keep getting visits from the ghost of the past
so i spark another l then i go to the pad....

That part about 50 Cent is pretty funny considering the story goes that he got his record deal with Shady Records by holding his own in a freestyle with Eminem.

Rap during the 90s was the best. I loved Gangsta Rap. I don't like the pansy **** you hear today. Everybody talking about their ice and fancy cars. Whatever happened to the days of drugs and guns?

I never liked gangsta rap from any period. Didn't like Straight Outta Compton, 36 Chambers, none of that. I acknowledge their significance, but not my thing. You should check out some classic none-gangsta rap albums from that time, like Nas's Illmatic, Eric B. & Rakim's Paid in Full, De La Soul's 3 Feet High & Rising, as well as A Tribe Called Quest's The Low End Theory. All great.
