So google earth recently got some more updates and increased 3d model coverage which is pretty damn impressive. They're even modeling vegetation now.

You can check it out here: https://earth.google.com/web/

Anyway, I figured I'd show my house and see if others would like to do the same.

I'm not giving out a location but it is somewhere in the pic below :)

Feel free to do the same and be sure to leave out any incrimination info ( long/lat coordinates, street labels, etc.. )

If you mean the first post..... I think they're condos. The average size of a US single-family residence house is around 2200 sq ft (204 sq m) with new houses averaging 2700 sq ft (251 sq m), not including the garage/driveway and front/backyards. They're not as big as those in the first post if going by building size.

Same. Not much to see anyway tbh, basically farmland and golf courses.

Here it is... The 3D modelling is a bit of with the trees there. It isn't this bad as it looks here.

Jesus, never really noticed it until now, but looking at the SF Bay Area, humanity really is kind of a blight on the land. I'm sure it looks worse than it is but it's like nothing but grey just all around everything.

This is pretty cool, though! My house looks weird, too many trees around it I guess for Google to get a proper modelling of it. Apparently I have a water tank on my roof, too....

Yeah that's a fairly common setup; each structure is actually six living units, so they're not all that huge (not too small, though). I used to live in something like that. It's good when you're starting out, I guess, but you usually have to belong to a HOA (home owners association) which has dues and can be a bit fascist, and you share a wall (or two!) with your neighbors.

**How do I take a picture and post it?

@mrbojangles25: f to answer your question then first off, you want to press Ctrl Alt PrintScreen, then I would paste it into a word document, and finally use the snipping tool and press File then Save as a JPEG format. Does that help? Hope it does.

Thanks.

The HOA would apply if they are indeed condos. But, if they are apartments, then you don't have to worry about it. The landlord/landlady takes care of all maintenance. I kinda wished I still lived in an apartment. Maintaining a house is a lot of work.

We have an HOA and they're pretty anal about seeing weeds up front, including the sidewalk and even the street bordering our property. My responsibility to keep them clean.

They'll send out a nastygram (regular mail) if they thought there were too many weeds. I usually wait for the third letter before spraying the weeds. Ha Ha!

I wouldn't complain. Bigger always seems nicer until it's time to clean the place. ;)
