Not if you read the whole article instead of just the highlights. :P
This is nothing more than a switch from IPv4 to IPv6 that was a long time coming. I do not expect it to be particularly eventful.
this, its been known for awhile that IPv4 wouldnt last forever. They actually first thought we'd run out in early 2000s.[QUOTE="GabuEx"][QUOTE="angeldeb82"]

So can we sell the internet space our posts take up? We'll all be rich! :PHead_of_games
Have no fear (or hope) - the internet itself is not running out; this is just yet another example of a journalist yet again opting for a humorous/fearful headline over one that is actually accurate. :P

and who could blame them? I mean who's gonna read your article if the title was, "The internet would be gone forever, but instead nothing is really gonna change!!!!!"[QUOTE="MetallicaKings"]So this article was pretty pointless. GabuEx
Well it's not pointless; the moment in time when IPv6 becomes an Internet necessity is actually a pretty momentous occasion from a geeky standpoint. It's certainly not a cause for alarm though.
Very true if the article was strictly about that. But it was a pointless stunt to attract more viewers.[QUOTE="MetallicaKings"]So this article was pretty pointless. GabuEx

Yeah, but anyone geeky enough to understand that would realize that the headline is pointless and ridiculous. :P
