I really see nothing but style to it these day...
I used to be Goth until i realized it is nothing but a style and has many negative effects on a person...

I agree, I used to be goth for 4 years........ its just a fad, people grow out of it.......its mostly 9th graders today that are getting into the whole goth thing...... I listen to all types of black underground metal but I dress nothing like it, theres no need to dress goth to show someone how much you like the music lol....they do it for attention
[QUOTE="123625"]They'll die out, just like the Hippees did.Wetall_basic
Hehe you said man and then you said hippies.:PIt's a lifestyIe man! Just like Hippies. Just happens to have similiar clothes 8)
Emo may be more of a fad than Goth though, they're never taken seriously, nor do they take themselves seriously either.

And whoa man the sun's got sunglasses man.:o
A HAWT style, might I add. Now, I'm not into cutting when it comes to chicks, but that get-up is nice. Oh, yeah. Who's with me?dreDREb13It's okay, but the problem is when you associate being sad and stuff with it. Music, clothing, and emotion can be seperate things, so they don't understand.
I was emo and suffered severe suicidal depression as a child, which still slightly lingers on today. :|dghulI was not emo and suffered suicidal depression.

E.M.O.S
Eating Molecular Oxygen System.
THEY HAVE THIS DIABOLICAL SCHEME TO TAKE OUT THE WORLD"S SUPPLY OF OXYGEN
They simply DRESS the way they do to gain attention AWAY from that evil plan.
It's so...EVIL.

Theres more emos here in chicago than there are goths. There also a lot that I want to punch in the face but thats beside the point. Yes, things do fade but mine hasnt. I starting skateboarding when I was 8 and still do so. I still wear skater cloths and I dont think I will ever stop. Almost all my cloths are from a skatebaord clothing company. Killfox

The "AND" operator was unnecessary, and was eliminated from your search.
plus i wouldnt say suicidal and people with depression are emo...... that stuff people can get heredatary from their parents, something not to joke about... ive had it for years so its pretty offensive, you shouldnt joke about stuff like that, it ruins peoples lifes and they end up in the street
I wouldn't call the goths a fad, but, very few decendants remain.
The Goths (Gothic: , Gutans) were East Germanic tribes who, in the 3rd and 4th centuries, harried the Roman Empire and later adopted Arianism (a form of Christianity). In the 5th and 6th centuries, divided as the Visigoths and the Ostrogoths, they established powerful successor-states of the Roman Empire in the Iberian peninsula and Italy, respectively.
The names Gutar (Gotlanders) and Goths are etymologically the same ethnonym. Related, but not the same is also the Scandinavian tribal name Geat. Goths and Gutar were *Gutaniz while Geat was originally Proto-Germanic *Gautoz (plural *Gautaz). *Gautoz and *Gutaniz are two ablaut grades of a Proto-Germanic word (*geutan) with the meaning "to pour" (modern Swedish gjuta, modern Dutch gieten, modern German gießen, Gothic giutan) while designating the tribes as "pourers of water", i.e. "men, people".[1]Gapt, the earliest Gothic hero, recorded by Jordanes, is generally regarded as a corruption of Gaut. Interestingly Old Norse records do not separate the Goths from the Gutar (Gotlanders) and both are called Gotar in Old West Norse. The Old East Norse term for both Goths and Gotlanders seems to have been Gutar (for instance in the Gutasaga and in the runic inscription of the Rökstone). However the Geats are clearly distinguished from the Goths/Gutar in both Old Norse and Old English literature. The second theory is the most plausible, because Gota means pouring of water and like all Indo-Europeans they always establish their settlements near the rivers.

[QUOTE="ElArab"][QUOTE="FlaminDeath"]I'm sure its a fad, I mean how long can it last when it kills off its own members. :Dwemhim
In theory that works, but, smokers are still here :| - but they aren't all dead yet.
They've got 3 decades about, artery cutters have 3 minutes.True, but not everyone of those cutters hits a big one, it takes multiple attempts over a long period of time, assuming they don't want to kill themselves but only want to "relieve themselves" when they cut. Although, I don't think you can cut yourself for that long and not have an accident. Hmm, I'm gonna find out the accidental suicide rate of Emos....gimme a minute, it should be somewhere on wikipedia :|.
Right now, anyone who feels any way passionately about anything is regarded as an emo so no, that won't go away.Food_Nipple
[QUOTE="Andrew_Xavier"]You'd rather I wasted 900 minutes retyping all that information?
Maybe we're just different people, but, I'm not going to waste 8 hours typing up information for a quick cheap pop.
wrlyy
Yeah, I didn't read it either
But, I assume if I just said something about the queen of the goths being fed her sons in a pie in shakespeare's titus, no one would understand.

Yay stereotypes indeed (when you learn to laugh at them.)
