So about a year ago I had my braces removed. I mean I had all of these different appliances in my mouth. Good thing I didn't fly anywhere becasue the metal detectors would have gone off like crazy..... well anyways...... my dental cleaning habits are pretty good. Besides not having the money to go to a dentist... I floss, brush, and use mouthwash, but my teeth are still not WHITE WHITE...... and when I floss.... which is every day..... my gums still bleed..... and then I have to wear retainers at night to keep my teeth straight..... sorry for my descriptive grossness, but isn't that **** annoying. How is your oral hygine?

I went through two years of braces and two years of retainers... yeah... it is **** but in the end... it is worth it.

I brush and floss from time to time. Just whenever I plan on talking to someone.

I only brush my teeth, and in the 18 years of my life, have only had one cavity. Guess I'm lucky.

Are you flossing correctly or maybe too aggressively?

I used to brush my teeth once everyday or two. Only got one cavity in my life, but now i brush twice a day and that pretty much it. And for wearing a retainer every night, i do it like every week or two...lol

Only way to floss is put on some heavy metal music and hang upside down while having 2 monkeys hold the ends of the floss while you move your teeth over it.

My teeth are purdy by the way. All nice and white! But they just start becoming really white since I switched to Vivid white toothpaste. Never had a cavity or braces. Don't have to get wisdom teeth pulled either

I just went for my semi annual cleaning and they want me to start going 4 times a year instead of 2.  =(

I also need another gold crown on a tooth and I'm not looking forward to that.

I never experienced braces, thank gawd. If you bleed flossing you may be doing it too hard or something..

Get your teeth bleached if you want them to be white. I wore braces for two years, and I'm currently wearing retainers. I hate them, but at least my teeth are nice and straight.

I had braces for 6 years.  After I had them removed, I had little white spots in the center of my teeth where the metal had been.  It took a while for them to turn yellow, so I drank a lot of coffee.  Now it's normal.  I'm missing about 6 teeth altogether, and my teeth have moved because I hated the retainer, but I have bridges so they keep my front teeth straight.

My oral hygine is good.

All of my teeth were always perfect EXCEPT for the front ones. I had Arnold's Gap till I was 19. Never had braces. Parents had a good dential plan but for some reason they thought I didn't need braces. They didn't value teeth though. They never took care of theirs own so why would they care about mine? Every dentist I've ever been to says it's better to cap or bond the front teeth, because I have normal sized teeth but a huge mouth. So instead of jumbling all of my teeth together they wanted to rebuild them.

I am a the point in which I'm feeling "what the hell?" because the fake teeth are just as good as the natural teeth. So why not just rip them out and mount some fake teeth in the front. My neighbor has MOSTLY mounted replacement teeth and the rest are capped. His teeth look great. The only reason I know his teeth are fake is because he told me and they are too perfect to be real. Espescially for a man his age.

I've usually just brushed my teeth and used some mouthwash and floss every now and again. 17 years without a cavity. It might be all that candy you're munchin on.

My teeth have always been pretty white, even though I didn't start brushing them every day until a few years ago. About a month ago, however, I bought a special "whitening" toothbrush and toothpaste, and have been brushing morning and evening. Result? My teeth are actually less white than before. F*** me.

It is. By 23 I had 13 cavities. Up I used to eat dove chocolate, other chocolates, sweet tarts, sprees and smarties. Now I rarely eat candy, cookies pastrys and ice cream. I try not to drink pop. It's all of the garbage food society has raised us on. When you go to the dentist they have a bowl of suckerss and other candys because they want to keep you in the habbit of eating candy or encourage it.

The think about snacks and beer and cola.. you don't brush after you consume it. If people did we would be brushing and flossing ten times a day. Most people don't carry a brush, some paste and rinse with them so when they eat out they don't clean their mouth nor their teeth.

Dental care is one of those things that gets put of because it's redundant and most people think "eehhh, I'll do it later" but later always turns into tommorow which leads to never.

Uhh you think you got it bad?

I'm on my second set off braces because i fuc*** my first set up by not wearing the retainer everyday.

So now i'm halfway through this two year brace.

Mmmm you could try whitening toothpaste,if that doesn't work and you got the money you can always go to the dentist to make them white, but it's very expensive...

Mmmm did no one tell you that the toothbrush isn't a magic wand? If you keep eating sugar filled crap a toothbrush isn't going to save your teeth no matter how many times you brush them a day...fact.Â
