lol well in case you missed it, you didn't miss much. GSP was never in danger of losing, but he barely did anything after something apparently happened to his eye and he ****ed about it for most of the fight and all of the post-fight speech. Shields looked like he just wanted to chill out with GSP for 5 rounds, never bothered doing anything despite the other guy (apparently) being blind in one eye for 4 rounds.

Shields vs GSP was probably the most disappointing fight I've ever seen.

Now Machida vs Couture was an AWESOME fight. That front high kick was freakin' amazing, and this is the reason why The Dragon is my favorite fighter.

Thought it was a terrible fight. GSP's eye was bothering him the whole match, yet shields just stood there throwing kicks. Boring.

GSP was hurt and wasn't doing any damage. Shields should have dropped guard and worked his jiu-jitsu. He should have at least given it a damn try. Why would you stand toe to toe against GSP if you aren't doing anything?

Shields can't strike with GSP and he tried to do it. Then again, he couldn't take him down, either. He did better on his feet than I would have imagined though. GSP knocked him down a few times but did no real damage aside from the head kick and a few other shots. However, Shields only landed some pretty weak punches that did bloody GSP. I guess it looked like Shields did more damage but GSP landed better shots. Another altogether underwhelming fight from GSP. Not to take away from him, necessarily. Just that the way he fights and approaches fights are not very exciting. I appreciated seeing him pick apart Koscheck and Shields. The technical aspect I appreciate. But it's hard to pretend that I prefer his fights to something like Aldo/Hominick.

Shields was scared ****less, that's why he didn't do jack. Why did he ask for the fight if he wasn't going to do a thing? It's hard to blame GSP if he really was blind in one eye, and still managed to win by unanimous decision.

Yeah, the whole card up to the main event was awesome. The main event was what I expected, but it's okay because GSP just wants to keep his winning ways. Shields didn't have any plan to win the fight. Nobody ever does. GSP is physically better than all the other welterweights. As an MMA journalist and broadcaster, I have been covering this stuff for 3 years professionally, and I have never seen someone dominate every round of every fight for so long. Machida was a beast for doing that for a while, and now there is Jon Jones...that guy is incredible.

I expected the main to be somewhat boring. You can't blame GSP for taking it easy. He already got the title...Why should he waste his time trying to entertain the crowd? If Sheilds wanted the title he should've went for it. I was slightly disappointed in Aldo. He gassed in the second round, something must have been wrong with him.Machida had the best knockout of the night. In the end I hope GSP eye is ok. I'll hate to see his career end because of such a minor injury.

That kick that Couture got hit with was nutty. Steven Seagal knows what he's talking about, apparently.

Sorry but your disapointed in Aldo's performance and yet your saying you cant blame GSP for taking it easy and making a boring fight? Also entertain the crowd why? you think he would since it was his home crowd of 55,000 people.

Was it ever in doubt? Ever since his first hollywood movies, it was plainly obvious that Seagal knew how to kick heaps of ass.

Why should GSP waste his time and energy trying when he has the title already? It should be Sheilds that wants it. He should've had GSP under pressure and on his back. But instead he didn't. Which made GSP take is nice and slow. If you were the champ wouldn't you do the same. Also I expect more from Aldo because I have high standards for him. He is explosive, fast, and fun to watch. He he gassed I was disappointed. Who gasses by round 2? That is terrible.

Because it was the largest crowd in UFC history, and mostly made up of Canadians supporting him. I personally know ten of my buddies that went to the fight SOLELY to see GSP fight.

Yeah that was a mighty solid kick that Randy certainly wasn't expecting and it will be interesting to see how Machida's road to eventually challenge for the belt will go.

Anyone expecting a highlight real knock out by GSP is wishful thinking. That's not his game. He fights like a machine, efficient and low risk to himself. The main event was no surprise. Although I though Shields would spend more time trying to actually get a takedown. I think it would have went a little more like the Koscheck fight if GSP didn't get the eye injury.

so? GSP is a nice guy and all, but he is the champion, why would he try so hard if the other guy wasn't? Maybe if Jake Shields actually pushed the action GSP would be forced to respond, but he didn't have to do anything.

Chalk another crappy fight to GSP. It's almost like what Anderson Silva was doing, where they know they can beat their opponent, so they don't try. In fact, in rounds 4 and 5, I actually wanted it to go to the ground so GSP would get submitted.

"they tight" Not sure I follow you. And it's not about being exciting, I get that. But even for GSP, last nights fight was lame. GSP himself even admitted that he wanted to end the fight via a submission or a knockout - even he wasn't satisfied with himself. Too bad shields didn't use GSP's eye injury to his advantage. IMO, I just thought it was a bad fight by both fighters.
