Guy Problems

Ok, I think I am actually gonna break up with my boyfriend. Only problem is I don't know how, I want to do it nicely... bc even though the guy is not so nice i am a nice person and am not going to change because of a jerk. Besides he is also a good friend and I care a lot about him still.

so can you think of any ways to break up with somebody??? nicely. (no pretending I have AIDS, cheated or other insane ploys) how would you guys rather a girl end it?

But seriously. Don't do it over the internet/phones or etc. He will hate you forever if you do. I can't honestly think of a "nice" way to break up with someone, just do it, face to face.

Do the traditional "lets break up" or "lets see other people" but make sure you add something like "I'm not saying we'll never be together" That's what howw my first girlfriend broke up with me and we are still friends.

if you want to break up with him and still be friends with him... that's extremely difficult, especially if there is a lot of history between you two.

There's always going to be antimosity in the back of his head toward you.

thanks everyone for the advice. i needed to hear some from people who weren't my friends in RL and who wouldn't be jumping up and down at the fact i started to think about breaking up

if you make it seem like you don't really want to break up with him, be apprehensive, select your words, and such; he's going to believe that there is something he can do to win you back.

Just be honest and diplomatic/gentle as possible, unless you have no conscience.

I'd tell him something along the lines of "You're an amazing guy but I feel as if you and I have grown apart. It's not anyone's fault, I just feel as if we differ so much that we don't have that connection and it would be unfair to both of us to keep that kind of relationship going"

Then wish him your best and be on your way.
