Seems pretty fair and reasonable, so long as they don't start playing fast and loose with what qualifies as 'hate speech.' I'm guessing it's in response to the GTA 5 review which, while really dumb, was not an excuse to launch into personal attacks on the reviewer's life choices.

I don't think this will be as bad as the old tou. I imagine GS has had a problem, especially with comments, where discussion is full of childish insults and obscene remarks like youtube is loved for, and it makes their site look bad to the public. Same problem at IGN. Looking at what walt said I think they're hoping to find some compromise that will make it easier to flush out people who are on here just to be asses and still allow discussion that's decent and civilised without being overly moderated.

I'll be honest, I didn't read or watch the review (probably cause I don't care about the new GTA), so I just took a quick peak. Is it cause the reviewer is a tranny or something complaining about homophobia or whatever?
Basically new rules to protect them from criticism when they don't do their job properly, so they can come out in support of a colleague who doesn't do their job properly, but then use these bs changes to silence any decenting voices.

Not fond of their constant flip flopping on what is and isn't allowed. You let the rules go....it's kind of silly to try to reign them in. Yes...it's fine to deal with people that personally harass other people which is I guess the issue with the review. But it's not right to expect people to keep up with constant ToU changes. On the other hand, when they did remove the rules....people got harassed here but it wasn't a big deal to GS because it wasn't an employee. Interesting indeed.....

No, OT is not fine. I'm glad we have this policy now. Hate speech shouldn't be tolerated; end of discussion. . The reason they want to have stricter rules is not cuz of the forums, its becuz of the reaction/comments people have been posting in some of the reviews of games and in some of the news shows GS has.

Believe me, I've seen plenty. It might not be "hate" speech, but it comes close to it. I havent really seen hate speech around here
