Guys, how low would you go?

This is mostly for guys. How low would you go, age wise for a girlfriend.

I just found out yesterday that my friend has been dating the same girl for 8 years now. WHEN SHE WAS 12!!!

(he was 16). The girl's 20 now and they both still have a strong relationship, albeit a very sexual one. (she invited me for a threesome!) Both of them have decent jobs and a nice place to live. So in a since they kinda break all the media hype about perverted pedophles preying on little girls.

Me personally I would go as low as 17. I'm 25.

4 years isnt much of a difference at all.

As a girl, I date older guys. The max I would go is 7 years. As far as younger goes, the youngest guy Ive dated was a whopping 6 months younger.

I kinda agree with your statement. It seems the media is hyping so much against older men being with younger women, that in the last couple of years it been getting nearly taboo for a guy in his mid 20s to date an 18 year old.

Im going off personal experience and basing their younger years relationship on the one I had. There are definatly times when it is very wrong, but again, depends on the people involved.

I'm certainly no role-model myself...When I was 25 Idated a 17-year-old (who funnily enough became a stripper when she turned 18, but that's another story) and now I'm 31 and the girl I'm dating is 20.

apparently you can work out how low you're allowed to go by dividing your age in half and adding 7 so for me it's: 22/2 = 11 + 7 = 18 :D

I could care less what society labels me as. If I like someone, I like someone. Age isn't really a factor for me.

I think traditionally, when you're younger the age gap tends to be less. That is, if you're 18 you feel "comfortable" dating a girl no younger than 16. When you're 20, 17 seems to be OK. At 25, 20 is perfectly fine and the gap can easily increase to decades as you get older and it's fine.

Too some degree, Yes. But in that age your brain is still evolving. 2-3 year difference in the age group 13-18 is a lot.

Megagenes may sound a little high, but in that age its not that big of a deal as it is below 18.
