I just got an HDTV and have Comcast cable. I'm using component cables from the box to my tv and I'm not sure if the HD channels are looking as good as they're suppose to. My tv is a 720p and I was wondering if it may be some channels aren't broadcast in 720p I don't know. I know I can use a hdmi cable but I'm not going to pay for one right now. Games on my 360 look great and I want the tv channels to look good also. Any help would be great.

Did you contact Comcast? AFAIK you need to have an HD plan to get HD programming from them. I think you might also need to have a newer set top box.

Do you have your TV on the component cable input? When my dad got his TV he watched it in cable mode for a few hours before I told him for HD picture it has to be in component. Aside from that though, some stations look better than others on comcast (which blows because my cable bill is nearly $200 a month) and some stations don't actually broadcast in HD. TNTHD, for example, just has the picture blown up.

holy **** i hope that cost includes internet and phone too, even still thats expensive, directv is only like $65 for me, $5 of that is for a second reciever and another $5 is for the tivo service, though soon i'll get my hdtv and it will go up $10 for the hd signal. plus, directv has more hd channels than comcast i think.

Not all channels are HD from Comcast, the cable will make little difference.

Not all channels come in HD. Even HD channels don't always broadcast in HD. Also note that Cable TV has the worst HD signal out of the three services (cable, satellite, fiber) due to it's limited bandwidth.
