You do realize that one of the best things you can do in a survival situation is find a road and walk down it.....
Not to mention you can't even prove that he had been by the highway the whole show. I saw that episode and that was the very end of it and he mentioned seeing civilization.....
Way to fail tc, way to fail....
Seriously, I'm not sure how this proves he's a fake. There's highways almost everywhere now, the point of the show is to give you helpful tips to survive.Darth_Tyrev
Like Climbing up and down a waterfall
Going into a dangerous ice cave for no reason?
Trying to ride feral horses?
Drinking urine?
Jumping into the ocean to cool off, even though it's going to cause you t get painful legions?
And a long list of other dumb and braindead things he does in his show. Man vs. Wild is NOT a reliable show for survival advice.

Man vs. Wild is a con. It's a faked survival show with terrible survival advice.
BUT HE BROKE HIS BACK AND CLIMB MOUNT EVEREST!cool_baller
Thats the thing the show is misleading but Bear Grylls isnt a joke. He was in the special forces, climbed mount everest, hes a rock climber, ate diner hanging from one of those huge air balloons, he does do alot of the survivalist stuff, he jumps into icy water and quick sand to show people how to get out, hes still awesome, its just the show that has the problem.
Lol whos the joke now
"Bear breaks the world record for the highest ever open air dinner party, slung under a hot air balloon at 25,000 ft. Details of this adventure, in celebration of 50 years of The Duke of Edinburgh Award, can be found on the official website. Click here for more info."

Served with the British SAS (21 SAS). Passed UK Special Forces Selection, serving as a sabre soldier, trained in unarmed combat, desert and winter warfare, combat survival, medics, parachuting, signals, evasive driving, climbing and explosives. Served in North Africa twice. In late 1996 Bear broke his back in a free fall parachuting accident in southern Africa.

its setup because theres no garuntee anything would happen. hes not gonna do a show walking around, he needs to show possibilties. he doesnt tell people to jump in ice cold water, he does it to show people how to get outDisturbedChild7
Here's the problem. By staging situations, he's doing the exact opposite. A lot of what he does is not what would happen to you if got lost. He does crazy and dangerous stunts to make the show entertaining, but he never tells the audience that they shouldn't do it. Remember the time he travelled into the ice cave? That's incredibly stupid. What about when he used his t-shirt as a gas mask when going into the dangerous gas on Kilauea? Never bothers to tell us that a t-shirt would do absolutely nothing to stop the gas from getting into your lungs and that the best advice is to not go into the gas.
Even the frozen lake scenario was falsified. There were two very clear hand grips on ice next to the water. If he hadn't made them, it would have been very likely he wouldn't have gotten out.
Remember when he climbed down a waterfall? Never once mentions that it's a stupid idea, and he doesn't say that he was connected to a safety line through a harness. Even then he struggled to climb down. Don't even want to imagine how it would have been without it.
I could go on. Man vs. Wild is not a show to watch for valid survival techniques, it's a storybook show about the myth that is Bear. I have no doubt he's a badass in real life, but on this show he's just a Hollywood Action Hero. Watch Survivorman for the real deal.
bear grylls is nothing but a posh toff who has never ever been camping before!zoe256
lol how about scrolling up to my last post.
I love that show. I don't care if half the stuff he does if fake. he still squeezed water out of elephant dung and he drank his own pee a few times.xboxdudeman800
I like the show but I wouldn't trust anything that dude says if all he wants is ratings.
