People big and small dress up in clothes meant to scare people, or clothes 2 sizes to small. They then demand that you open your door, and they threaten you to give them candy. Otherwise, they will trick you. They walk around with the prizes they got from mugging people from the saftey of their home. I dont know about you, but this halloween, im gettin the shotgun. :P So, to create a little discussion, What do you think of this? An outsider would see this and say "wtf?" So, honestly, what is wrong with us that we create this holiday?

Traditions always get really weird when they're sifted down through many generations and cultures. I love Halloween, personally.

Don't forget, it's also that one day of the year when taking candy from strangers is not only okay, it's encouraged.

It was Gaelic, actually. It was celebrated in Ireland as Samhain. The Celts had similar festivals, but Halloween derives more from Samhain.

Celts in Ireland are Gaels. But I guess I was wrong about France part.

uninstall, uninstall~! i was told that I am just one of countless specks of dust on this planet, but that is something that I cannot yet to comprehend uninstall, uninstall~! I have no choice but to pretend that I am a samurai who knows no fear, uninstall! In other words, you have to be brave to give candy or you will make kids unhappy

I find it hilarious that parents constantly tell their kids "don't accept candy from strangers", but we send them out to do just that for an entire night.

Halloween is all about dressing up, going to parties and getting drunk, and hooking up with girls dressed in slutty outfits. What is wrong with that?

I love the Halloween season. Adorable, festive decorations everywhere, masses of candy, haunted houses, the annual trip to the farm, kids having fun trick-or-treating...it can just be a great time of year. :)

What goes on during Halloween? Im Australian so we don't celebrate it here and from my understanding (movies :P) it goes like this:

1. Knock Door
2. Get candy
3. Repeat

Is that it? Does anything else happen?
