Ok so idk what to do!!! I recently fell in love with hedgehogs and im actually on a waiting list to get one but the problem is they are $250 and the site where i need to pick it up is about 2 hours away from me. On the other hand, I could go to the petsmart down the street and get a little hamster and i always adored them ever since i was little. I have no idea what i wanna do! I want a pet so bad (no im not getting a gold fish) so which one do you guys think are better a hamster or Hedgehog?

I had a hedgehog about 8 years ago and he was awesome but also a jerk. I vote hamster...Because when almost all of the equipment you buy will transfer to a hedgehog if you still decide you want one after having a (much cheaper) hamster.

If you want a small, fun pet, you should consider getting a rat.

If you have never even owned a hamster please dont get a hedgehog!!! A hamster will give you a good idea about the responsibility that you need to take care of an animal and some experience before you tackle anything more exotic is the responsible and mature thing to do. Please dont buy a hedgehog

More like, you SHOULD and not can. In Sweden there's even a law that says a hedgehodge needs at least 20 squaremeters available at all times. That'a about 215 squarefeet I believe. Now they probably don't need that much but point is, they should never be impriaoned in a tiny cage.

One very common mistake when excited for buying animals is skipping the most important part, spending a few hours googling to look up info on proper treatment. A quick google shows they are very sensitive to cold, should roam free and they seem to have a bit tricky diet. Obviously it's very important to remember also that before buying anything, you need to make sure you have money since sick (and they do get sick, especially if you don't research properly) cost a lot of money, if you can't afford this you should just stop thinking about a pet to be honest. A cuddly little cat sounds very fun but when you spend half of your free days either entertaining the cat for hours or listen to it whining over and over it can be a bit frustrating...

Hmm... hedgehogs are extremely cute, but I can imagine they'll be hard to pet / play with. Hamsters, on the other hand, are merely very cute, but easier to handle, cheaper and you can buy all sorts of toys and equipment for them.

You know what? Get a mongoose. It's a choice you'll never regret.

Hedgehog - I nearly bought one from a friend a couple of weeks ago but decided in the end it was too much responsibility and I'd have to be at home all the time to look after it. It was adorable though and I still love the idea of it!

Does wholesale blue food coloring come with the hedgehog?

Buying it afterwards would add even more cost

I'd go with a hamster. Those little Siberian ones are SUPER cute.
