The Sega Nomad is the first handheld megadrive, I actually have one. It even accepts your very own cartridges. The downside i battery, big, and the screen is only acceptable. This device Looks more like the sega genesis collection for ps2 and psp though. The psp can do the same thing, except you have a choice. The problem is the psp is a widescreen device so the games get stretched, games like battletech dont look stretched, and the psp has a huge refresh rate problem. Oddly this problem only occurs when the colors are simple, or low resolution. Or if the game makes the screen constantly move
If I knew how to make a video on youtube, I would show the sega nomad off. The problem is, it sucks batteries, but you can use it as a console because it actually is better display than the sega genesis (but a heavy controller so no).
If you could put your own downloads into this device it would be so much better. But I much rather use the psp with billion filtering turned off in games like sonic the hedgehog.
