Really now, can't people at least try to learn/remember about 2 muslim holidays? I mean, I know the backstory of about 8 christian holiday's... The Ramadan Fest And the ''Slaughtering'' Fest, Eid Eladha (I think?, not so good with arabic)
The former is pretty well known I think, at least here in Europe where people show at least some interest in each others religion... Also known as the Sugar fest for children because they get a lot of candy and sweets/snacks and stuff and in most cases also money (from parents, relatives, neigbours etc.) :P
The latter is in which we commemorate that God/Allah sent us the lamb/sheep, the event described in the Quran. We buy lots of animals and slaughter them for their meat. We send to relatives, neighbouts etc. but more importantly, to those who have nothing at all. We send money and/or animals to deliver meat to the hungry, poor and needy ones. This year, we're helping Pakistan have something to cheer about as we're sending them food and monetary help.
