Well I'm in the mood for something new, upbeat and unique. I was watching the treadmill video by OK GO and was thinking of something like that. I'm listening to samples from their first album and it's good but I don't think I want to buy it.

Know anything with a sound like that or a sort of Modest Mouse (by MM I mean Float On happy. A lot of their old stuff is depressing) or maybe the sort of sound of The Cardigans?

I've checked out a bit from The Shins and can't say I like it. I don't like The Decembrists much either.

Hopefully you get the idea of what I'm looking for.

Also I'd like albums released in late 2006 or sooner. Thanks!

I consider psychedelic music to be the happiness-inducing music genre. Music imitating the effects of mood-altering drugs? Yes please :D

Oh, who is that russian pianist pop singer? I saw the video this morning on MTV and it had a pop up saying about her being a Russian pianist. The video was her and this like invisible guy sitting at a table and then at a bench and such...Hard to explain but I loved the song.

My happy place also involves the painful dismemberment and death of the people who piss me off at school. Luckily, my happy place is in my head and nothing more.

I don't know what Modest Mouse is like, but I would say REM. They're not very high tempo happy, they're more low key happy. Try the song 'Shiny Happy People'

Oranges & Lemons - Soramimi Cake Probably the best I can come up with. Otherwise, Lesley Gore - Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows :P

Lol, I was actually going to suggest Ok Go. Hmmm If you are looking for newer stuff I might no be any help, anyhow, look into 311, Everclear, The Offspring. Those 3 come to mind.
